...reading about our losses of Raivo and Karl <3 I have tears in my eyes....I will never forget them.
I am also glad that Oru didnt choose Paikes path.
....thank you all for your great work.
....but did I understand correctly urmas summary that Karl had a special transmitter that may be the cause of his dead in syria? and do Oru, Aru, Karula and Eedi have the same transmitters that they can be located easily an shot?

KARL - I think Urmas wrote about the SIM cards and and all birds have the same
it is only theory about the reason his death (I read only about jamming broadcast/transmitting data in Israel of national security)
On March 29 the migration of male Karl was interrupted in Syria. Since Karl did not return to his nest he very probably was killed. There are reports that birds flying with SIM cards and passing Syria are hunted there with the pretext of national security (evidently they are also used in spying drones). Karl’s tracking device used a GSM network SIM card for transmitting data. The other birds with trackers have however not had problems in the Middle East.
Chrisitz, you're welcome

Solo thanks!
He is always choosing the jordan valley and he is not staying, he is crossing like a wind.
Last year he slept in the south near Beer-sheba, not near water.
I think he is eating very much in Ukraine,

Great news from our specialflyer Uncle Eedi, thanks Solo!
I think it's a very good thing that he toured Karl's "curve" in Syria,
hopefully other birds will do the same, for their safety!
Hana, do you have any photos of those Polish Black Storks?
It would be nice to see some!
