Upene (Ziluka) didn't change her postion at all, which is not a good sign. - Last signal: 2015-08-15 13:30:17
The last map you can see that she crossed two electric transmission lines

Macko, Upene was 2 km on the road. She might have stayed in the river and stayed there all the time
Do you really think, something is wrong?

Liz, two lines are exactly one above the other on the map. Now I see that she turned back. Thanks. :)

15:30 a new signal from Upene.
She moves only 6 kilometers

It is increasingly difficult to find them. The lines network will be always more dense :slap:

Upene(Ziluka) prošel jsem korytem řeky Olše 700 m v čase 08:30 a nikde nic.
Na zpáteční cestě jsem v lokátoru 49.7915861N, 18.5943739E spatřil kroužit na obloze 3 černé čápy a 1 asi 100m dál.
Snad aspoň 1 z nich byl ten sledovaný GPS,zážitek přesto nezapomenutelný.

Srdečné díky, Guiseppe ! :D :D :D
Wonderful these pictures of the 4 storks and the pittoresque river ! :loveshower: Thank you so much !

Liz, I think the parents are still in Latvia. As you know all parents need to recover for 3 or 4 weeks from the feeding-stress.
In addition they are moulting during that period. (at least the white storks, and I can imagine this is the same with the black storks. - Does anybody know about that?)
That might be other juvenils who have come all together from Latvia.

Thank you Guiseppe for pictures and interesting information.

Maybe Ozols or some other adult storks stay in this place not for the first time and showed the way to Ziluks and Ziluka. It means that black storks don't fly all alone.

....

Baska, I found this
http://core.ac.uk/download/pdf/14521972.pdf

The previous knowledge of the moulting of the black stork is in the monograph by Janssen et al. (2004) compiled. They
culminating in the realization that an intact wing is important for this great glider. To the airworthiness not
affecting large Mauser gaps, obviously intertwine different functional mechanisms. Based on fixed, regular foci constantly moulting seasons are started, but are resolved by sequence delays and associated, supporting different durations of individual springs such that from about the 4th calendar year moulting sites are spread over the wing
(Bloesch et. Al 1987). The large feathers moult takes place during the summer and pulls herself up in the winter. The latter authors pursued this Mauser on a young bird over 8 years. This showed a continuous Season Mauser, the descendant of the hand from H 1 and the arm went convergent; the control they showed divergent from the center from the inside out running. The Mauser cycles lasted initially 1-1.5 years ...

I know that the parents fly separately. Female first, then male. was a nice thought ... the whole family
