hello all :hi:

there is a photographer, ian hayes, that did apparently see an estonian GSE on 2.11.18 in el hondo, wearing a transmitter. personally I can eventually see an U on his ring. the picture ist not very clear. and for me it seems not to be the ring of tönn. is anybody informed here?

scroll to find it:

Hello pica :hi:
I am not so informed ... I did not look from the beginning.
Hellem knows it for sure.

I found the picture. Tönn - white ring (7X)

it seems to me the same place (and date) as here https://www.looduskalender.ee/forum/vie ... 47#p620747
the first info by DanielD https://www.looduskalender.ee/forum/vie ... 47#p620747

(on birdmap is GSE Tõnn the only one in that area)

photos from here? :puzzled:

:hi: Pica,
I bear in mind the one GSE - with transmitter from Estonia - on birdmap, not the one/single GSE in area  TY for the links.
Have a nice day too

In El Hondo there are so far seen only 2 GSEs - Tõnn and another adult GSE without rings and transmitter, the max number GSEs in El Hondo was 6 in Dec 2014. GSEs are the rareist birds in El Hondo 8-)

hello again

thank you solo and hellem. I was troubled by the ring. but I did compare it to an old picture on his nest in estonia - it is really similar - even if I could not imagine a 7X.

but when I compare it to the pictures I posted the links this morning, I‘m in doubt, whether there are only 2 :puzzled:

for me, the second picture shows a juvenile bird, with still the beige feathers around the wings. what do you think? really I would like the fact, that Tönnipoeg would spend its winter with its father...

and yes hellem, these birds are even rare elsewhere :2thumbsup:

have a good time!

Hello Everyone

Not the best of photos, but here's a view of Tonn at the Santa Agueda site clearly showing the transmitter.

https://marketheridge.smugmug.com/Birds ... /i-7VKFW3W

Taken at great distance on 1st November 2018. Unfortunately I am no longer in Spain, back to Scotland for a hospital appointment, but I hope to be back there early next year before he moves northwards again!

Regards
Mark
