:hi: Solo,

I do, too. I observe and check every day, even if I do not post for the time being.

I am happy to see Tihon safely arrived in his wintering area and I really wonder
about Vija - I would have bet that she will move on from this extremely hot and
barren land. But obviously she finds salt water fish really tasty. And the electric pole gives
her enough shelter. :D

My God, Solo .... you write here only if there are comments?

All in all, I got two comments for what I'm doing (sure I'm not doing it that way * professionally * as you but I'm trying) from the Aquiline and Rita once again showed me a mistake. That's all ....

I read all migrations but do you mean I write my comment on every post; oh how nice ... good work or something else? Personally, I really do not have the time for that.

what I miss are the comments on migration - differences between individuals, where and how the birds fly, in what environment they are in Africa (or on stopover sites), ... :headroll: (and time to time also thank you  )

btw. I have 14 697 posts - You still think I'm writing here in LK "only if there are comments" as you wrote?

What about Aivar? Did he decide to visit the surroundings of Berlin instead to travelling via Poland, Hungary, Italy to Tunisia? :slap: Perhaps he fell in love with Loode? :whistling:

Aivar has chosen a completely different route this year.
But this region must be a very good area for the cranes

A paradise for migratory bird lovers: In addition to about 20 pairs of storks, every year tens of thousands of cranes are attracted to the stork village of Linum.
The second largest stork village in Brandenburg is located northwest of Berlin not far from Fehrbellin in the Ruppin country. Linum is nestled in the beautiful moorland of the Upper Rhinluch with countless fish ponds and its meadow lowlands.

I thought once birds have chosen a wintering area this will be for their lifetime, it is printed in their mind. I did not know that sometimes they change their "travel destination" :shake:
Migration is exiciting

I think they do not have to change the destination but route. Aivar was born in 2017 and rings. So he is not yet * family based *. He was maybe on the way with * half strong * all the time. The group took a different route hard. Who knows, maybe he'll spend the winter months in France or Spain.
