Lesser spotted Eagle (LSE) migration
Data from 26. November
There is an "individualist" among the tagged Estonian LSEs
Mälgandi, a male, who bred in vicinity of a planned wind park in Estonia and had one fledging chick in 2018.
After he took the same migration route like all other Estonian LSEs, he decided to leave this path in the border area Ethopia/Uganda/Kenia and stay more in the East than his compatriots.
He flew to Tanzania and further to Mosambique, but now crossed border back to Tanzania.

Greater spotted Eagles (GSE) migration
An overview about the stand at the moment
Let´s begin with our very well known Estonian Tõnn, he has reached his wintering grounds in Spain already since a while, one can follow his ways in his own topic - with some great pictures taken at the place there from DanielD, it is worth to have a look!
https://www.looduskalender.ee/forum/vie ... start=1200
Blond, Uzefina, Denisa - all three are GSEs from Belarus, interestingly all three have not made the same route to Africa like most other GSEs, but stay in Greece instead. Will they winter there?
Uzefina and Blond are so close together that one can´t keep them aparat on this overview.
All with last data from 25./26.11.
Pille from Estonia, still on its place in Russia, not that far from the Black Sea and Crimean Peninsula. I wonder if winter is so gentle there that it is possible to stay all season long in this area. Last data from 23.11.
Priit (Estonia), last data from 11.11. and Tur (Belarus), last data from 13. 10.) on their last known location in Egypt. Fingers crossed for these two, that they are only somewhere out of GSM coverage or have a defective or sleeping transmitter.
Perun from Belarus, shows up in Egypt, with last data from 23.11.
He is along the banks of Lake Nasser there, maybe will stay there for winter?
Sander, from Estonia, with last data from 20.11., is in Sudan and will maybe stay there, didn´t travel further South with the last datas.
Tihon, from Belarus, is also in Sudan, but more East and closer to the Eritrean and Ethopian border than Sander. Last data from 25.11., roaming up and down in this area, maybe his final wintering area.
Ouff, I hope I forgot none and didn´t mix up their ways and paths

Tuesday, 27th November 2018, update 27.11.2018:
GSE:
Following on from Bea's posting, some additional points which I'd like to stress:
Blond, like some (not all though) other GSEs from Belarus, seems to like Greece as wintering area - looks as if this is an equivalent to Spain for Tönn.
Blond, Denisa and Uzefina have reached their wintering quarters judging from their position last year. They do not like to travel too far, like Tönn.
Perun has reached his wintering quarters, same area as last year.
I wonder about Pille - there should be a real winter in that area. This is near the place of the olympic winter games in Sotchi. As she is a newcomer on the birdmap, we do not know where she spent last winter.
Good old Sander has arrived 'home' on the border of Southern Sudan.
Tihon is (still) some hundred kilometres north-north/west of where he spent last year's winter. Nice placey with enough food and water it looks.
I share Bea's concern about Priit and Tur.
LSE:
Mälgandi: Unusual and beautiful name - so it fits that his route is a bit eccentric.
Mait is not as far south as in the other years - he is not really territorial - never was.
Magnus is not that far south either as he used to in previous years. Karin covers a wide range as well.
Jaan also has not reached his previous years' northern border of Swaziland. Either he is still on migration or he will winter in the border area Sambia/Kongo.
