After years and enough much reading I know anything, but I am still only little
lay expert
I only read back after info by Lusciniole
Solo, you are our "Migration-Map-Expert"
and i hope you will continue your excellent work also here in this thread.
Actually i just wanted to help out when you were not here for 2 days and nobody had posted the news. I will just stop now posting an update.
I'm a bit confused now, too, about the Markus' flight over the Mediterranean (in 1 day how many km on the flight over the sea? and when did he start? update data 27.09. he was still in southern Bulgaria and update data 28.09. he had reached Libya ?
).
Maybe you can explain, if your time allows, even in a PM? I don't want to spam this thread.

Thanks Solo. I have the same question as Balistar (but my english is imprecise): Markus crossed the sea between 27 and 28/9...

Markus 26.09. 2018 searching for food -stay overnight?
27.09.2018
28.09.2018
I think we can not know, what they do exactly.. searching.. feeding.. sleeping. That's only a guess.
The ornithologists can see it. They have all the data they need.

all,
I am really only little lay expert and more I know only about storks migration.
I know only one distance indication: the max. daily distance:
828km (source:
https://www.researchgate.net/publicatio ... 2/download by Urmas Selis)
I wrote here
https://www.looduskalender.ee/forum/vie ... 56#p616656 : Marcus: 3467km (27.09.) - 2318km (26.09.) =
1149km (2 day) : 2 = 574,5km - but I am not sure, if that is 1 day or 2 day, or after how many hours

Is there any news or new information about her?

Solo,
little mistake, it is
6034 km, so plus 166 km.
You've twisted the numbers. So many data, you have to post....
But from the others still no new data
Hope they are all fine and only out of GPS area.
Thanks for updating and pictures of view.

6. October
Just had a look at the birdmap and had to giggle when having a closer look at
Estonian Greater spotted Eagle
Pille´s route
Looks like this bird wants to avoid crossing bigger waters
A biiiig curve around Sea of Azov
I am curious on which way it will continue and where is the ending point ....

in Africa they are more countries, very big areas with poor GSM coverage. If Elena is in Central African Republic, that is very probably the reason, why we have not new data. (e.g. one HU black stork has his winter-area in CAR and his device was in 2017 silent too - last data Oct. 27. new data Feb.13 and Karl in South Sudan "is quiet" also very long time)
