Thanks Anne for the cards. But you do not have to do it, we can also do 1-2 days without cards.

I'm sorry for the Maru Mouse ... she flies around so much. She probably does not find food that well. And the night has she spent in the field ?! or was there again a mast?

Karula again spent some time on the * dirty * river.
At the moment, Jordantall has not enjoyable. It rains a lot and winds are very strong.

:hi: Sova,
if one bird/animal is healthy and does not find food - fly/go away from area. Maru also in Europe flew more than Karula and Päike per day - Maru is more searching type, poking around (storks in first year do that obviously)
btw. storks spend night also in field (not often, but nothing unusually)

Good evening together,

thank you very much, Sova, Hellem, Solo and Anne, for all the updates and interesting pictures!
Sova, your pictures are fully o.k.! And I am grateful that you've made the summary! :D

Solo, thank you for your report about Marus way of moving. I was also worried, - almost the whole time since she's at the Nile. If you think, it's o.k. that she is flying around all the time .... I remember she has done it also when she left the nest. For many weeks she flew around in Lithuania and Latvia before she started her flight to south.
I really hope, Maru finds enough food. :2thumbsup:

Thank you for the information, Sova! It is to see also in your weather report.
Hopefully Karula will find shelter somewhere from the strong rain and wind.

Thanks Solo for the link!
What a joy to watch at their excellent videos of millions of bird crossing and staying at this special point.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hula_Valley

I watched their FB page and saw their daily videos like "magic morning" or the first visit ever of the Scandinavian "Barnacle goose"

About the morning videos of the Cranes: I was reading somewhere that they are counting them when they leave for their working day. They are sleeping in rows, and when morning comes they are flying away row after row. This "system" gives the possibility to count them. (watch :magic morning").

Maru - I cannot understand this mania of her, to stay on electric poles.

When she comes back home, they have to treat her by a Psyco-vet.

:hi: Abigyl,
it is not "mania" of Maru. That do all storks (BS also WS) in areas where they aren't appropriate trees - the best are the old dried.

EDIT:
1/ video - Flock of black stork on a high electric power pole: https://www.shutterstock.com/video/clip ... tric-power

2/ read pls that: https://www.looduskalender.ee/forum/vie ... 41#p556541

3/ one dried tree in nearby Daraw, but near populated place

Abigyl, you're welcome.
Btw. I follow the FB page Agamon Hulla for many years, they have often great photos and interesting vids (cranes are in that valley feed)

Good morning, everyone :hi:

Solo, Hellem, thank you!

I worry a little about Karula.
Tracker says:
Last data received by GPRS: 2019-01-08 15:12:58 (UTC+2) :puzzled:
Next data session expected: 2019-01-09 15:12:58 (UTC+2)

(Normally, there is an update every 6 hours, so 3 consecutive updates failed)

Maybe the weather was too bad for sending data successfully?
I hope Karula is OK.

Here is the tracker map from yesterday, early morning, until now.

TRACKER MAP
Karula_Jan08-09
https://drive.google.com/open?id=1ANDlM ... sp=sharing

I will keep you informed.
