Re: Following Karl's Family
To all of you!
As always, I'm reading your interesting comments and data. There's always something new to learn
I have a question about Paike.
I know that some birds are crosssing the Mediterranean sea, I don't remember that a BS crossed in such a large point.
What do you think about her itinerary?

sorry - off topic , but interesting (I think)
"EuroNatur awarded the title of the 11th European stork village to the neighborhood in the same year in a bid to motivate villagers to protect the white stork and the cultural landscape of Lake Uluabat, well known for its rich biodiversity.
The Uluabatlı Lake region is an important destination, with its ecosystem, for white storks migrating to Europe,” said photographer Alper Tüydeş, who also serves as a press agent in the Karacabey district. "

Haha ! That is true ! But I tell you something : Many Germans have difficulties to follow those interlaced sentences !Anne7 wrote: ↑October 12th, 2018, 8:19 pm
Yes, Liz, our book
It is very good. It spends a whole chapter (45 pages!) on the cultural history of BS.
My only problem with this particular book is that all sentences are about 1 km long. At least, that is how it feels for someone who is not German-speaking.
I don't understand why it is always written so complicated.
Me, as I know a lot of foreign persons, I learnt to speak in shorter sentences. This is better and more comprehensible for everybody !
Liz With the WS it is the same like with the BS. They like to fly at their leisure. They are young and curious ! They want to discover everyting ! Even more when they are coming back from their wintering place.
Hallo Michi !

Anne , I know that you're not complaining.Anne7 wrote: ↑October 12th, 2018, 10:00 pm I know that you can only post in the evening!
I am not complaining, Michi.
In the evening, I sometimes get so tired that I prefer to do the summary a bit earlier, before you had the possibility to post the update on Maru.
[.......]
To make it up, I have a few pictures.
I was lucky to find something. There are not many pics of Maru's area, I believe.
And I can understand well that you want to finish the summary at a time that is right for you.
Thank you for the pictures of Marus area! I had feared also that there are not much pics available. But these are nice!
Baska, hallo!
Good night all!

Good morning all together
KARULA has flown far inside the Turkey, direction Konya.
new data : 12.10.2018
distance : 3602 km (+271 km)
temp: 18°
Precipitation: 0 mm
Humidity: 50%
Wind 100 m - NE (04 km/h); 15:00 NE (13 km/h)
Wind 500 m - NE (10 km/h); 15:00 NE (16 km/h)
He is heading to a mountainous region with mountalns up to 3734 m where he can find quite a lot of lakes situated between them.
I hope, he will detect the gorgeous Lake Beyşehir, which is an eldorado for birds because of its wetlands around.
Thousands of WS and BS are coming every year. Specially to the corner in the south-west where is also a small village called Yeşildağ.

I hope Karula has found it !!!

Karula is now on the way to south or you think that Lake Beyşehir is another necessary stopover area for Karula (no the Israel ponds)?
Btw. female MARE (EE) and adult male ZOLTÁN (HU) flew above the lake (both BS hadn't stay in the area)
