Re: Following Karls' Families
Hello everyone,
Anne, Sova, Juta
Many thanks for all the updates, pictures and data!
Karula is surprising us. What a flight he has made in the last days!
I wonder if he wants to explore Poland now.

Yes, Michi, it is exciting to follow Karula's journey.
Today he is exactly 23 months old.

Tracker Map
April 19 to April 20, 2020.
KARULA
Sorry but I am not able to create the map today.
I have a new hard drive after the fatal collapse of the previous one, last Wednesday. it doesn't seem to recognise the way to deal with the KML file.
I won't prmise when I can overcome this little difficulty!
anne - are you here? Or Juta?

Today Karula flew 303 km. But not towards Estonia.
He flew south, crossed Slovakia and is back in Hungary.
Maybe he wants to fly back to Turkey?
Karula is near Szászfa in Hungary.

This morning, Karula had breakfast near the small village Aleksandrów, stopped briefly at the fish ponds, and started traveling around 11:00
This is his latest shown location, this evening in Hungary.
He was looking for food at the Rakaca Stream

Good evening,
Many thanks, Anne and Sova!
I think, there's no need to worry. Karula is a teenager with no commitments. He is free and this year he can do whatever he wants. It is a good year to explore the world.
And I don't think Karula is disoriented.
Once on todays flight Karula had a speed of 95 km/h. But mostly he flew slower.
A nice evening to you, too, Sova!

Karula is on tour.
Your tracker map also shows all data from yesterday, starting in the early morning.
But it shows all data until this evening, so it's not really a problem.
April 21st
Today, Karula flew about 140 km southwards.
He is still in Hungary, between Kunhegyes and Kenderes.
There seem to be (fish?)ponds.
Pics later.
Here you are:
This is today's flown route:
Yesterday evening, Karula didn't stay at the Rakaca Stream near Szászfa.
He flew further southwards and spent the night near Lak.
Lak is a village in Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén county, Hungary.
This morning Karula started traveling around 10:25.
Karula flew south towards Kunhegyes and Kenderes.
Kunhegyes is a town in Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok, Hungary.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kunhegyes
Kenderes (Hungarian pronunciation: [ˈkɛndɛrɛʃ]) is a small town in Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok county, Hungary. It is notable as the birthplace of Miklós Horthy, Regent of the Kingdom of Hungary from 1920 to 1944, and for the many memorials dedicated to him around the town.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kenderes
Karula reached the fish(?)ponds around 13:10
These waterbodies are called Sóskúti-halastó.

.
Sóskúti-halastó is apparently a lake in Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok, Hungary
Here is a link, in German.
https://www.seen.de/soskuti-halasto/
If Sóskúti-halastó is a lake, it has to be an artificial one?
Hungary - List of Lakes
I read that Sóskúti-halastó is also known as Kakat-eri-viztarolo, Kakat-éri-víztároló.
