I wonder if Aru decided to spend some time feeding? :puzzled:
He flew away on an empty stomach, unfortunately.
It also looks like he is crisscrossing the pond he slept next to.

Ari :hi:
Yes, it looks as if Aru is refuelling, and resting for a while.
Probably he/she practices his/her fishing-skills.
We will see on the next tracker map if Aru flew on, today.
Birdmap does not mention the time (only the date).

It is not uncommon for travelling Black Storks to take a break (sometimes even for weeks).

Maris STRAZDS, Wolfgang FIEDLER and Hans-Günther BAUER wrote in
What Makes a Successful Migrant?
Lessons from a Five Year Tracking Project of a Long Distance Migratory Species

"... Contrary to many migratory species, Black Stork is a solitary traveller. Juvenile birds, during their first migration from northern Europe to trans-Saharan Africa, must rely upon the resources they received at the nesting site and the experience they gain during migration. Our data suggest that two domestic factors might have a significant impact on their migratory success - body weight and longevity of stay in the nest. Early departure from the nest is strongly associated with migratory failure, so highlighting the potential negative impact of late-season disturbances in the vicinity of nests. Most successful birds left their nests late and started the southward migration straight from the nest. Typical migration consists of comparatively short bursts of flight days interspersed with longish foraging stops along their long journey - the longest one from our data exceeding 10,500 km one way. ..."

Just thoughts over a cup of tea. As and why they get their first thought, “Do you need to look for something in the pond?” Probably, the smell of fish is similar to the smell of ponds. Because it is not clear from the outside that there is food, because Karl2 did not tell them - children, look for fish in huge water, with a detailed story of how it looks. :D
Sorry, I didn’t google before dumping the question here

Good day to all

It's a bit puzzling. Each data point shows 0mph speeed, yet the location and altitude varies. Of course, we don't know what Karla is doing in between data points - obviously moving around, though.
