Lotte flew out at 01:31 and returned with another piece of a rabbit at 01:41, it went to the right side larder

My night record had a horrible sound, so no video of it.

Lotte left the owlets in the sun and she got a lot of protest because of that. They tried to find places in the shadow, at the hind larder, but not all of them fit in there (there is probably rabbit, too).
Maybe Lotte tried to lure them over into the shadow, but it didn´t work, all are still too small to leave the nest bowl and walk over.

It must have been quite hot on the ledge today and since the bush from upside has only dry branches on the low side there is no shadow from it ...

27. April

Lotte came home at 00:14 and immediately started a feeding until 00:30

Lotte was out from
00:44 - 02:55
03:32 - 04:40

04:40
Leo couldn´t resist delivering another mouse straight to the owlets by himself - Lotte was not amused, as usual
Oldest owlet was the lucky one, it swallowed the mouse in whole

Lotte was out again from 05:03 - 05:50

Hellem :hi:

You´re welcome!

Great, that you are following all what happens here

The owls here are fascinating, one can see many happy and funny moments, but also sad events ...

Same here with me, I am always nearly falling off my chair from laughing when Leo delivers a mouse to the owlets and Lotte is so obviously miffed about his doings then

Lotte flew out at 21:03 and returned at 21:58 with a bird.
In a later video one can see that it is a jay. No immediate feeding, jay goes to the larder

Feeding from 22:11 - 22:34

Lotte out from 22:39 - 22:51

There was a zoom on the owlets while Lotte was out from 21:03 on .... their difference in size is huge.
The smallest one is now 10 days old and seems hardly growing bigger :(

Lotte left at 04:39 and came back together with Leo at ---->

05:43
Leo saw his next chance to deliver a mouse to the owlets, he is always a few seconds quicker than Lotte :rotf:

But he also knows that he has to be quick in disappearing again

thank you, bea, for the fantastic job you do keeping us updated. i am hoping you can educate me a bit about what to expect for the little owlet (the runt). it is hard to watch it struggle for food and i wonder what its chances are of surviving. have you seen three owlets before?
