Lotte (I think it is her) flew up to the opposite ridge, from a lower perching place.
There were only few hoots in the beginning, then she stayed quiet and observing her territory until she left to the left side behind the ridge

Leo came flying in to the ledge after he had met Lotte before.
He spent quite a time there, resting and observing vicinity.

04:36
Lotte called not so far away and Leo began to answer her, then he left and short afterwards Lotte´s hoarse calls can be heard and also these high pitched twittering calls, they mated

An interesting event ....
Leo landed on the lower balcony, Lotte calling somewhere farther out.
Then he walks to a hidden place near the former nest place there and for me it looks as if he fetches some stored prey from a pantry there.
He begins to pluck and eat from this prey (feathers? a bird?), takes off with the leftovers of it (?) short after he had some bites.

I watched it several times because I first thought that he came in with prey, but it really looks more that he landed in with empty talons and fetched this prey from that pantry :puzzled:

Leo again on the lower balcony - maybe he wants to convince Lotte to breed on this place? :puzzled:

Dear Lotte, no-no, the traditional nest place upstairs is much much better than the one on the balcony .... :whistling:

Leo at the traditional nest place, Lotte can be heard calling, too. I think she was somewhere around the opposite ridge. When she took off, Leo followed her "around the corner"

Leo had a tête-à-tête with Lotte and then landed in to the lower nest place once again .... it seems that he currently favours this place for Lotte to lay her eggs and introduces it again and again ....

Lotte was not far from the traditional nest place on the ledge, doing some morning plumage care

During the last evenings a lot of display sounds can be heard, Lotte´s hoarse calls and also high pitched twittering sounds, when Leo and Lotte are working on eggs for future owlets :D

Finally, Lotte visits traditional nest place
She was talking with Leo all the time and when she left, she flew his direction, most likely for mating or for getting some food from him

Yes, what a joy, finally things are on the go and Lotte laid her first egg :loveshower:

Yesterday, at 23:25, Lotte flew in and prepared the nest bowl, moved some stones, also picked some up and threw them out :D

She settled down and already looked "ready" for the big event, until Leo came in and I think she got a nice late dinner from him and flew out with it
23:38

Maybe Leo thought she needed some more refreshment for the coming events :2thumbsup:
