Oh my oh my, Mamicja... How cold is it there in the U.S.??
As I read, she was a hand-raised owl, aged 17 now, but must be an experienced one over the years. :puzzled:

Pandion owl cam, Denmark.

Cam link: http://pandion.dof.dk/ugletv

The page info says it's a GHO, but I think it is an Eurasian Eagle-Owl.

For me it's definitely Eurasian Eagle Owl (bubo bubo).

The Great Horned Owl (bubo virginianus) looks little bit different.

I was watching this nest last year. It was sad story. There were three owlets, one of them fallen ill and couldn't stand up. Two others ripped and ate him/her .

Pandion owl cam

March 22nd

The female fulfills her incubation responsibilities, rolling the eggs, sometimes hooting and leaving the nest quite frequently.
The place looks like a quarry.

Ofcourse it is a Eurasian Eagleowl (bubo bubo). I think the confusion may be because the Danish name for the bird is 'stor hornugle' which into English directly translates to 'big/great horn owl'. In Danish the long-eared owl (asio otus) -which at first sight can be confused with eurasian eagleowl, although eagleowls are much bigger- is called 'skovhornugle' (litt: forest horn owl).

Danish Eagle Owl

April 1st

I was watching yesterday and today Danish Eagle Owl and Lotte at once to compare both owls. They act at the same way: incubating, turning eggs, calling the male.
The only difference is that during four hours Lotte left the nest twice and Danish owl five times. Maybe the Danish male is more diligent and brings the prey more frequently?

The barnowl cam of Heligan Wild is online again.

Link: http://www.heliganwild.com/webcams

Both the male and female are at home as we speak:

EDIT:

Found a video of this pair of barnowls mating a bit earlier this year: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HGNzZ8sFSdY

EDIT 2:

The male brought a vole to the female and used the opportunity to mate, even before she could eat it:
