After mating on the opposite ridge Lotte took off at 18:39 and cam operator caught her back at 2016 nest place at 18:40

She stayed there and was calling with her hoarse calls until 19:02

Maybe she wanted to tell Leo that mating is the one thing needed to make eggs for little owlets .... and getting some nutritious gifts the other one :whistling:

When I opened the cam this morning I came right in to see Leo or Lotte sitting on the opposite ridge. There were no vocals during the short time I could watch and so I can´t say for sure who it was .... if I should make a guess I´d say it was Lotte

Lotte was "falling" in to scratch at the 2017 nestplace, not one of her most elegant landings :whistling:

Is she taking a sand bath or is she preparing the nest? Leo should bring her a mouse.
Too bad that there is no sound.

Hopefully preparing the nest ....

Yes, I agree - a camera without sound is only half the fun

Can´t we bundle all our mental forces and make some hypnosis to Lotte??? That this here is the one and only and best nest place???

At the moment it doesn´t look as if there is an egg on the way .... she looks too relaxed

Some clips from yesterday´s/today´s events here on the ledge :D

21:45
Lotte is in cam view at 2016 nest place. Short before I had heard sounds as if there was a mating (Leo´s staccato hu-hu-hu and Lotte calling hoarse), but I heard no squeaking copulation sounds, so maybe Lotte got a food gift from Leo and this made her calling so enthusiastic.

After she had been sitting on this curved branch for a while, Lotte scratched a bit and went over to the rim of 2016 nest place and observed the ledge and the valley from this point

22:40
Lotte left this place and mating sounds can be heard, but our couple couldn´t be caught in cam view

Sound of cranes can also be heard in the background
