Leo delivered a half rat for Lotte, she had to work a bit to gulp it down.
Both talked a lot with each other during the delivery, I so wish I would speak "owlish" to hear what they were talking about

Lotte flew out, sounded as if she got more food from Leo. The egg was talking again

One can hear egg talk now even with Lotte sitting on the nest bowl. I checked my recordings and I think I haven´t seen her eating egg shell until now.

Hi girls!

I have just checked the nest (0:25) and Lotte was sitting on the eggs but somebody under her was chirping so loudly :)
Like it was a sound made out of the shell.

Lotte got no delivery and did not leave the nest bowl until 05:21 .... finally!

We have a sweet little owlet which is out of the egg
But head is still much toooo heavy to lift it higher

Lotte began to eat the egg shell, it is nearly completely eaten already, only few remains

Hi Lubaska - long time no see

I'm so happy, that the head of the first owlet is to be seen under Lotte's belly.

I can hear hissing owlet. I wonder if there is anything in the pantry?

As far as I know it - larder is empty. But Lotte talked already several times with Leo today .... hoots from both sides in and out.
I hope he is quick abd successful at hunting this evening.

Poor owlet has to wait a long time for the first feeding. I have not seen any feeding yet.

There was quite a lot of out-and-in tonight.

Leo delivers a headless rat for Lotte and the owlet, Lotte takes it over a few steps away from the nest bowl, Lotte returns and stowes the rat in the larder behind.

Lotte is flying out, the little one is alone at home (with the rat, of course ).

Lotte out again. During all her outings tonight happens a lot of hooting.
