we had sunshine for about 10 min at about 11 o'clock so there was plenty of time for our cat to see her shadow if i had taken her out.

so we are going to have winter for 6 more weeks. :whistling:

Neither cat nor groundhog would have seen any kind of shadow here today. It was grey and foggy all day!
So, we are in for an early spring?

My cat couldn't see her shadow today. Maybe spring is in the air  .

this year Phil the Groundhog saw his shadow at 7:28 in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania, and thus predicted 6 more weeks of winter.

no wonder he saw its shadow: he was brightly lit for the TV in the early rainy morning when it wasn't nearly light yet.

Hello to all! :loveshower:
Today, we have begun nesting time for the birds.
Blackbird (Osku) sang to me. So did last spring, but much later. I experience this gratitude and quiet song is just for me. It will be right beside the courtyard and looks at me. I fed two years in our yard several blackbirds, some have been given a name. This Osku comes to the window to pick up the food. It is also the most daring and wait for me for discussion. It keeps the words: come, come. Last spring, the song was also involved in that word. Sang "Come, come, tilu, tilu, lei ...."
our cat (20 years) is also a very dignified responded to it. Do not even try to hunt it. Otherwise, there is still a very strong hunting instinct remains intact.

iku, hyvää iltaa...
(If you like to write in your heart language, you can send a PM/an E-mail to me, and I try it with the help of Google Translate...)

You are joking? or is it serious, that you have a blackbird (mustarastas) now?
Do you know that this bird is missing, in front of the webcam-birdfeeder in Pärnumaa?

"Margossa"
I want to thank you as I said. as I read the last messages
We do not have not a lot of snow.
Birds are indeed caused a little extra "tressiä."
We have a few blackbirds team, who wintered and we ruokkinet. There are even some of the names (Osku. Charlie, Kyllikki and Henpukka) that recognize and come to the invitation, if you do not come to the window to pick up the food. Thus, those last two are obviously females, although this "hempukan" in terms of we have been discussing with one ornithologist, may also be the case for a young male.

So, iku has found her place with the postings in "Birds Birds Birds", and I am relieved!

Today, I came across an announcement for this summer in Germany:
In the town of Fellbach near Stuttgart (?) there is a "cultural summer", lasting 2 months and introducing a good width of music from Eesti and Suomi.

Katinka, we ask everyone here to post in English, please.
Can you translate for us the German in your post?

I know the content of this topic has changed over time, but the original intent was to post about LK and LK forum news. Posts about local people fit better under other topics in the Social area.

Translation is a temporal matter for me, at the moment.
Sorry.
Paco will be a name to most people and it's to find about him in the widths of the internet anyway.

Besides, this thread's intention has changed, as you can find.
JoUK had opened a different thread for that. Can't find it now, forum is too complexe...

I have seen the 2 parts on Austrian TV (as part of "Universum") already, they are really worth watching! Absolutely wonderful pictures!

To bad: it was available 7 days after broadcasting on ORF (19.02.and 12.02.) as video on demand. But I will keep an eye on it and inform especially those who cannot watch Arte live and so on when it is available in the net as video for free. But who knows, may be Arte live can be seen all over the world.
NancyM and Alice44 could you give it a try? Thanks.

The first part was in their Mediathek for a week, the second part was never viewable outside Austria. But the films will be on show in other European countries as well, as I have been informed.
