We have 124 signatures in less than 24 hours and I am only allowed to "invite" something like 12 people at a time!! I have to wait until the 24 hours is up so that I can send it to more. But posting the entire petition anywhere I can is getting more votes than anything. And our Urmas signed it, too!

Hi IKat
Thank you so much for signing!! I am hoping to get at least 500 signatures. So far we are up to 146. I am going to tell the barn owl groups about this and hope that some of them will pass it along to people I don't know. Gonna keep on trying till I get as many signatures as I can!

It is nice to see signatures from all over the world
and some people have written very nice comments -- a couple made me cry.

An interesting, and sad, article. It shows what we all fear, that these terrible killings not only happens in Estonia, but all over the world.
We humans are not in the right to force the nature to adapt to us, It`s we that have to adapt to the nature.
(I hope you understand what I mean )
Thank you for sharing Eden
Edit: I also want to say: Chimega, thank you so much for creating the petition

Thanks for that RSPB article.
It reinforces what we already know for a long time - that gamekeepers on large estates do most of the killing of birds of prey.
By doing that, they keep up the numbers of game birds which rich people with guns want to shoot (after paying huge amounts of money to the landowner)
So we are told, every year, by the media.
If gamekeepers are now getting uncomfortable with that reputation maybe they can change it.

Are gamekeepers not also employed by the state?
And when they initiate private hunts – who gets the money which the private hunters have to pay? Probably the state?
So maybe – indirectly – the state itself is responsible for the shooting of birds of prey?
