Looks like a Magyar Vizsla. I wonder if it is allowed to let hunting dogs run free, if hunting is allowed in that area at all?

I think hunting is allowed there, depends on the species and time. Red deer hunting season has started. As for dogs running loose, it's not really allowed, no. People taking care of the cam over there are from the local hunting club, if I remember correctly. They should know the best.

Thank you Moira!
red deer hunting season has started here in Germany on Aug 1st (my brother is a hunter). But if the local hunting club is in charge of the cam, they probably know the dog and its owner, so that would be OK, somehow, although still strange to me.

21:35: A mouse (? rather well fed) took an apple.
21:45 ff.: stags belling from afar
21:53: From the left: a mouse gets an (another?) apple. Followed by a long bellow of a stag somewhere in the deep wood.
Stags? To be continued, the wind carries their belling, time of the year for them!
