two badgers - Itchy and Scratchy
(not these horrible creatures from The Simpsons)

We can only imagine how good feeling must be to come out from narrow lair and then stretch and scratch himself like crazy.

BTW: Lot of ticks is in this forest. In last time we was there 5 hours, and I picked about 10 of them off from my pants and arms. Poor animals I would say ...

Yes, about ticks and other "little inhabitants" I have also thought seeing the scratching.
About how many, difficult to say, they can also form larger groups living together. Seeing them like this it is also difficult to differ between them. Two we know for sure. I would love to see little ones, but I read that in general they are born already in the beginning of March, so if there are, they are not that little any more.

batteries did go flat, and got replaced today ...

Recording shows, that they go out more often that we know so far.
Yesterday morning for example
05:25 (one, hurry to go somewhere)
06:23 (two, about 10 minutes in camera view cleaning the "big hole")
and then at the evening, between 20-21 hrs.

Could be related to temperature. In last few day's has been a lot colder here and badgers seems to be more active.

I opened the cam 5 minutes back and the first one is out already. Becoming earlier every day?
