Nice catch! Perhaps what I saw in the dark on April 24 also was a marten.

Nice to see a fox. I have heard one calling several times in the distance.

There are people working behind the camera. And in front. With a chain saw altering the view.
Management of the stream?

They have removed the nice overhanging 'trees' and planted some poles.
No improvement to our view.

He flushed a breeding Mallard.

For good order: In the picture it looks like he is chasing the duck, even trying to spear her, but in reality he flushed her by accident. He found the nest, said something to his mate on this side of the stream and left the nest alone.

Ohh, what a pity! It was such a beautiful picture with the 'circle'...

Men, chainsaws and trees, not a good combination.

I have really no idea why they have done this. It is not clearing the stream and hardly give us a better view on whatever is happening. Esthetically it is certainly a decline. Indeed the 'circle' made the picture special.
I also wonder very much about the purpose of the stakes on the right.

Around 01:40. The point of the poles the men planted is that they are surrogate trees for the beavers to knaw off to build a dam.
When I opened the cam just now I saw a beaver take the fallen pole and swim away with it.
I'll post a snapshot in the morning.

Since yesterday around 18:00 the quality of the sound seems to be improved.
Still a bit weird, but much better. The lack of wind also helps.

Sound recording with calling Crane(s) and the first Cuckoo on this cam.
Another prominent species is Chaffinch.
