The cam is off for 20 minutes now.
Last night around 23:30 I saw a bat and a possible weasel/stoat at the same time. I made a burst of screen shots but the result was not clear enough to show.

~08:50 cam back again.

Nice pictures with thundering winds. That's all.
It is such a pity that the microphone of this cam is so exposed to the wind.

Yesterday the cam became unstable and later in the afternoon stopped altogether.
Now there is still nothing.

I believe that those who are responsible of this cam have noticed and will repair it as soon as possible.

14:44 Now I have a white screen with now and then two seconds of sound or a still picture.
Repairs are needed.
Hopefully they can also do something about the wind blowing in the microphone...

Yes, when the cam is working properly, the wind in the microphone is far worse than the mediocre quality of the microphone. It makes following this cam very difficult, if not impossible. Some kind of wind protection would be nice.

There are more cameras suffering from wind in the micro like the seal cam and the Latvian WTE. But this camera is the worst.
I have often wondered why. Isn't it possible to make some sort of construction, a shield to keep the micro free from wind?

Yes, this cam is a disaster. If necessary I make use of an equalizer to get rid of the worst effect, but with this cam that usually is not enough.
Some cams have almost no problems with the wind, even in pretty exposed positions, like Golden Eagle cam.
I suspect Beaver cam is oriented to (or opposite) the prevailing wind (orientation is west) not far from the sea.

There are many possibilities to protect separate microphones from the wind without altering the quality too much, but I don't know what is possible with microphones build in webcams. Perhaps even a simple piece of cloth or a artificial piece of fur over the mike will help. Everything is better than it is now.
