A Egret escapes from the Eagle's Nest.






I know, it was a short luck for the poor bird. Many of his flight feathers are missing.
Later you can see the nest is full of white feathers. I do not want to document that.

DN9 wakes up, the two little birds are still there, a couple ?

wow, those feet have grown - the clown feet stage is reached

DN9 wants to be with Mom


still likes to be under Mom, at least with the head


tries to crawl under her, Mom helps

eats so nicely, gets spoiled as it is the only one


on the wing the little pin feathers can be seen starting to grow

after breakfast - aren't they both gorgeous ?

DN9 back to sleep, DNF calls again for Mr. North

BIG BEAR - April 21 - evening


Shadow, the young first time Dad exceeds all expectations.
He is not only bringing in one fish after the other, mostly two HUGE fish each day,
yesterday was two big catfish,

now he did it: Shadow fed the babies for the very first time

18:17 in the evening he was on incubating duty, he got up and dared to feed them.
A bit unsure, looking at the babies, looking at the fish, looking out for Jackie .....
she was not around, or maybe near on a tree, he decided to try to feed the babies.

That was so nice, first he was a bit awkward to meet their little beak, but babies helped him, stretched out and grabbed the food out of his beak. And they were so kind, no biting or fighting, and Shadow fed them both equal. Not too much food, but for the first time it was very great.

it lasted from 18:17 - 18:25 (instead of a video i try to show with pictures):
