Decorah and Decorah North
From the chat pages I found this nice update information of the children .

DECORAH update - Older D32
~ Eaglets update ~
~Update on Decorah Eaglet D32 ~
Click on the blue "see more" of the share to expand the entire update as well as to see the photo attachments.
This is the only information we have at the present on D32's condition and upcoming surgery. Please understand that we are not able to answer any further questions about care or recovery and we will not speculate. We're wishing for the best possible outcome for D32, and SOAR will keep us posted with more information as available which we will share.
SOAR has had 20 raptors admitted from June 4th-9th which all need their care and attention. Here's the latest updates on our other two eaglets, Decorah Eaglet D33, and Decorah North Eaglet DN9.
* D33
11 June 2019
D33 is a model patient - eating two quail a day! Ambassador Decorah shared some of his trout and D33 ate two! Just like in the nest D33 can poop-shoot quite a distance, guessing 5 feet out the crate door.
D33 is ready to move out of ICU to a 10x20' flight area. It's time to stretch out those wings. Look for the move to happen later this week.
* DN9
11 June 2019
DN9 has been a "naughty" patient as not wanting to eat quail! Kay suspects DN9 had an upset stomach... pelleted a nasty smelling pellet complete with raccoon fur. :-/ Earlier on the 11th finally ate a quail on own.
Was given ivermectin to rid of the feather lice. Also on an antifungal as a preventative.
Both D33 and DN9 are now listed on the SOAR patient page and updates will be posted here as available:
https://soarraptors.org/patients/
D32
13 June 2019 - Kay assisted Drs. Riordan and Struve with surgery to straighten and stabilize D32's right tibiotarsus. The stabilization had to be from the outside (external) as both veterinarians agreed that there was no way to attach anything to the tiny piece of bone next to the joint. D32 did have an open owie near the break and a very tiny corner of bone was exposed. The leg was not stinky or pussy. The owie (boo-boo, cut, I don't know I didn't see it) was cleaned, the bone straightened... then covered with an antibiotic pad and the leg "casted" in such a way to stabilize the bone but not be so tight as to reduce circulation to the toes. D32 will be in this cast for four weeks, then an x-ray check to determine if the two pieces of bone are forming a good union. All the veterinarians consulted on this think this is a long-shot, but a long-shot they were willing to take.
Now D32 needs to be kept calm, comfortable, and provided with cut-up food as standing on food to rip and tear is not something s/he needs to be doing now.
Now we wait.
Remember that patients listed on the website patient page will often get updates before Facebook. https://soarraptors.org/patients/

updates from SOAR about our three DECORAH eaglets:
D32
20 June 2019
D32 is remaining quiet and content. The splint / cast seems to be staying in place. Still being offered cut-up food only as do not want this eaglet to be moving about too much trying to stand on food to rip / tear. Kay will not worry about a weight or a beak depth measurement until possibly the next trip to the veterinarian (no the appointment is not scheduled). Limited handling means limited stress.
D33
16 June 2019
Weighs 11.5 pounds, beak depth today is 3.35 cm and indicates female. D33 will have another beak measurement just to confirm. D33 was moved to a 10x20 flight pen.
DN9
17 June 2019
Even though DN9 is still thin at 8.75 pounds, it was time to move to the eaglet nursery today. This eaglet has gained 1.5 pounds in 10 days and still needs to gain weight. The initial beak depth measurement says 'boy,' but Kay is thinking that DN9 is a female based on the amount of weight to be gained and that this eaglet is not done growing. DN9 has the left inside talon painted teal green (fingernail polish).

Two of the three juveniles currently in the "eaglet nursery" are perching! We *think* the perching eaglets are DN9 and D33.

Hello Eagle Friends !
Not so many news of our three
Decorah eagle children,
but I found this, the newest note at SOAR pages:
"1 July 2019
The nursery eaglets have discovered the kiddie wading pool and are bathing."
Sounds and whoever sees looks good too .
We cannot see but we imagine.

There is some more information about D32:
*) '1 July 2019
D32 is still behaving like he is in the nest. He has made no indication of wanting out of crate. Now that D32 has progressed to eating cut-up food on own. The crate and bedding is cleaned frequently.'

Update from SOAR website re. D32:
'12 July 2019
This week has been eventful for D32. Tuesday, Kay and Savanna took D32 to the clinic for another x-ray. Dr Riordan was pleased with healing and said the cast should come off. The break did mend and there is additional calcification. As bones heal, the body deposits more calcium at the injury site. So far the calcification does not seem to be impacting D32's "ankle" joint. Thanks for the photos, Savanna!
Dr Riordan removed the cast, layer by layer, as Kay held D32. After one more day of crate rest and observation, D32 was showing the signs of needing a bigger space (more energy, wanting to stretch wings, gained weight). Thursday, Kay did put a bit of wrap on the right leg for some support and D32 was moved to a 10x20 enclosure. Currently, D32 does have a roomie - a HY18 bald eagle who is at a similar stage of recovery and is not ready for a larger enclosure. D32 and roomie will be monitored to make sure both are getting plenty to eat. D32's wrap will be changed in a couple days.
The bone has healed as good as we hoped for... but certainly not 100% perfect. Now comes slow recovery and rehabilitation.'

Thanks, Rita, for the update on D 32.
Just yesterday i had a look at the site, but most likely too early, there haven't been the news yet. Good to read, that the bone healed as well as they hoped. Now it will take another while for rehabilitation - with the roomie the time will fly

BB NEST
It's very hard to watch the empty nest with the 2 ringed legs of the young sibling, still there next to the time stamp.

BIG BEAR NEST
14:37 Nice to hear SIMBA somewhere down, under nest. Camera followed him climbing back to the nest, it was very interesting.
14:50 Dad Shadow landed on nest with a fishie.
14:51 Mom Jacky came home too, to welcome her precious kid
14:54 SIMBA arrived to nest floor; calling, mantling and showing who is the boss.
15:17 After parents left, Simba jumped to his favorite branch, at parents upper front veranda.
He is staying there for the night

Asking: "Where are you? When are you bringing breakfast to a flying kid ?"
05: 57 He flew away from his front branch. A very beautiful flight to the right

July 26th, 2019:
Update on the Decorah/North Eagles D33, D32 and DN9 on the SOAR site:
'25 July 2019
The hatch-year 2019 bald eagles in the nursery have moved to the 20’x60’ flight pen! D33, DN9, Allamakee, and Calmar moved on 23 July and can now “start their engines” so to speak. This flight pen is large enough to allow for those necessary short flights that build muscle, stamina, and skill in landing.'
D32: '25 July 2019
No change of scenery yet for D32. Kay reports that he looks good and that she saw him move toes on the right foot. That’s positive.'
There are two close-up pics of D33 and DN9 on the SOAR site. Cute
