Hello
From FB page, EagleCam:
At approximately 17:40pm, we believe our first egg of the season arrived. Lady is relaxing now and dad is on guard duty! We will post a picture when she lets us see the egg.
And here is the video:

The first egg was laid on June 14 and second on June 18. Usually they are incubated over six weeks before hatching. So we should wait till the end of July for the eaglets.

Again drama in this nest. Parents were attacked by another eagle, SE19 is alone in the nest, not protected and not fed
From chat
greentea29
WBSE intruder, lady and dad fought to defend their territory. Now two injured eagles found on the ground.
SE19 has been alone most of the day

It's so sad.
We were so happy with the little one
Let's hope that the injured dad will survive and built a new nest with lady again next year.

Updates from FB:
We still don't really know exactly what's happened. We try to be as transparent as we can. Here is the other "attack" where both Eagles appeared to head towards the ground. We did hear one calling in distress afterwards. Judy and Steve will try to look around in the reserve. This is very difficult in the dark. We are all in shock and very upset at what has happened. It doesn't look good for SE19, who has been uncovered for at least half the day while parents tried to defend territory. The second bird in shot is dad, can see his tail feather stripe.
Please bare with us while we try and find out what has occurred.
Following an intruder earlier today the parents have not been on the nest. A small search party went into the reserve, they located 2 adult sea-eagles. They will attempt rescue and we will update here when we know more. At the moment we can't answer direct messages & the chat function on the web cam has been paused --

Good Morning !
Both parents are OK
They think that the one in the hospital is the intruder.
It's very sad that the cute chick and egg are "gone".

Abigyl
thank you so much for this good news.
Very sad for chick and egg. And also very sad for the intruder. I hope he gets well soon!
Lady is in the nest
Perhaps there will be another clutch in this year?

FB Sea Eagle Cam:
UPDATE 3:42pm The eagle at the vet was a young adult female (has reached sexual maturity but has not bred), NOT Lady or Dad. Sadly it died from its injuries. They are performing a necropsy. They did say it was in very good condition (not emaciated or anything).
will the parents have more chicks this year? EagleCAM: No idea. It's early in the season BUT when dad and previous partner had failed clutch they did not try again. We observed LOTS of bonding then too, didn't result in new clutch.

I am very sad because of the events in Sydney. Dad and Lady survived, but I think this year brood is lost.
I am watching this nest since 2013 and each year misfortune happens.
I watched the cam this unhappy day. In the morning SE19 looked so lively and was eating last time around 8 (local time) in the morning. Later parents didn't visit the nest or feed eaglet.
Before the fight (that took place around 18) SE19 was lying in the nest. In the same position eaglet was lying next morning. I wonder when it passed away, maybe before the fight? How long so young chick can stay without warming and feeding?
It's all so sad. RIP little one
