Re: Harriet & ?, American Bald Eagle Cam
Uta thanks for the nice pictures about M15 ! I hope all is OK with Slim!
Now. 03.42. Harriet (I think) sit on the nest tree.
It seems I'm lucky. I can see everywhere the live stream
I am lucky, too, I can see the Pritchetts' both cams and chat on the same page.
This evening I have seen probably Harriet in the nest tree on the upper right branch alone for a long time. Someone told on the forum that Harriet is that calm because she feels M15 somewhere close. I would be happier, if I saw M15 to join Harriet in the nest tree ...

You are welcome,Kinga
Hope to that Slim is well.
16:25 Harriet in the nest tree of her favorit branch, i think
It looks like that M15 beak(nare) is injured or was injured. That is a maker for ID.

Thank you, Uta, for this video!
Yes, on the left side from the nose it looks like a scratch, but I think, it is not a heavy injury. Maybe there was a fight between M15 and Slim or from something other.

When we hear mating vocalizations, it does not always mean the act has occurred. We hear those vocals today but there is no bonding in the guise of mating. Mutual mating vocals are a type of bonding also. The way of the eagle continues to unfold before our eyes. May we observe and learn - not judge or predict. Miss you Ozzie.
This was a thing I often questioned when these voices were reported always to mean mating act in Durbe's and Robert's territory last spring ...

It seems to me, humans observe the nest. Most likely Harriet is it inured.

Good news! I see it all right in the nest, I hope they find happiness
And it's all right with Slim
Thanks for updates!
I may be overexcited and silly, but I got a thought that Harriet's hormones might have began to work earlier than usually, when she has "lost" two mates for a short time and experienced stress since the spring this year. Maybe she is early in her physical schedule to ensure reproduction of her legacy ... They say at the chat and forum that she would be fertile first in early November ...
Harriet is sitting in the attic, M15 had just left when I opened the cam

tomp2001: ). The journey through the oviduct where the egg is manufactured takes about 24 hours and another 24 hours for the shell to be formed. From the time the eagles mate and if an egg is fertilized it can take anywhere from 5-10 days before the egg is laid. In general eggs are fertilized within a few days and the chance of laying a fertile egg decreases rapidly within 1-2 weeks.
