Re: Harriet & M15, American Bald Eagle Cam
10.17 they kept sitting together
10.21 E12 does a crop drop
10.39 in a short break, when rain stopped, a close up of the wet eaglets,
on the left E12, on the right E13

12.06 this view was most often seen throughout the day,
as Harriet slightly spreads her wings to cover her eaglets as well as possible
13.27 H standing over them, giving them shelter from the rain and storm
14.47 H feeding again some nestover to the eaglets

14.47/48 where do you go, Mom, bring some more ?
E12 stretches and spreads the big wet wings
sitting and watching and waiting for Mom's return, wind picks up again very strong and
H soon returned back to her eaglets on nest

14.57 H feeding the small fish, M had brought, to the eaglets
that was not much, and most of it got E13
15.00 still hard rain and poor E12 is a bit outside from H's shelter
16.24 Mom, when does that rain stop ?

16.30 H holds her right wing over E12
16.38 M, also completely wet, brings fish #2, an armored catfish
16.39 H gets up to move over to M and the fish,
we see the two E's put close together to hold themselves warm

M feeding E13, good to see the armored catfish
H supervising the feeding

16.48 twice a little bit aggression from E12, it was more a threatening with the beak, ...
.... because E13 was faster than E12 in snatching the bites (already good developed skill)
and H watch it
16.52 M stops feeding and H moves to take over the feeding, M leaves the nest

17.01 H offers the big fishtail to E12, E12 drops it, H takes it back,
E13 picks it up, but it's too big, H takes it back, offers it again to E12, E12 drops it again
and H finally ate it
17.03 feeding finished, H to the other side, found another nestover, wanted to eat it....
17.04 ....but gave it to E12 - good loving Mom

17.58 touching how H protects her chicks
20.17 still heavy wind, and H shelters the eaglets

6.55 E13 is the first, who is up and standing on his feet for a few seconds
7.00 E12 up, standing on feet and picking on grasses and nestovers
7.01 E12 still standing on feet more than a minute, like a pro
7.02 E12 still standing on feet, preening
7.03 E12 sat down

and once more, because it is so nice to see
E13, wingersizing while standing
and E12 is watching E13
well, what you can, i can do too
and that with 5 weeks old, "normal" i've been told is 6 weeks old to stand on their feet.

About persnickety with words, the word "bonking" is used also on the American South West Florida Eagle Cam forum site, I suppose most of us have found that word just from there:

But of course, our censorship here rules ...

Indeed, Owlie, the Americans use this word usual for description from sibling rivalry. For them it is normal.Owlie wrote: ↑January 28th, 2019, 4:42 pm About persnickety with words, the word "bonking" is used also on the American South West Florida Eagle Cam forum site, I suppose most of us have found that word just from there:

all together,
after the exhausting "muscle-work" of the early morning, both layed down to rest.
8.37 M brought the "breakfish" (another special made-up word ?)
and was feeding both, started with E13 - no aggression of E12 - E13 got a bit more
8.40 E12 didn't like to wait and watch and grabbed the fish out of M's feet
8.41 M took it back and fed both equal
8.44 E12 grabbed the remaining fishtail part by him/herself and tried a few times to eat it. But it was across in the beak and E12 couldn't get it in the right way to swallow it down and then spit it out

9.24 M brought the next fish, dropped it and left the nest
9.26 E13 picks at the fishhead (watch where the fish is laying)

and E13 picks it up with his beak and tears it

9.29 it seems E13 is eating some bites, E12 is watching
