I want to think that with the personal skills EEs are learning now and in the future E17 will become a great dominant mum like Harriet to ensure welfare of her eaglets and E18 will become a great hunter like M15 to ensure lots of food for his family :shake:

Cuddling, it is rather chilly out there

Food delivery, armored catfish, E17 starts to eat and M15 feeds
Image

Also E18 gets fed, he is again quick as a lightning and dodges shyly from E17's bonking

More food! looks like both parents came in with prey
Image

E18 in turn for daddy's feeding (rabbit), Harriet de-furs her prey (squirrel)
Image

A calm-down-situation? The parents paused feedings.

Harriet fed E18 with the rabbit for a while and he has a nice crop already, but when Mummy stopped, E18 wanted still to self feed
Image

They bring food nonstop today - a cattle egret or some other white bird? E18 being fed by Harriet
Image

Look at E18's crop!

Sue_Lyons (Admin): K, scientists think one of the reasons eagles put sprigs of pine in their nests, is because the odor helps keep away parasites, such as blow flies. Placing greenery in the nest that is not part of the nest structure proper is referred to as ornamentation or decoration. This behavior is common in raptors. Biologists have speculated the greenery is added for camouflage or to let other birds know the nest is taken.
Perhaps a sign to the owl?

At about 5:31-5:32 in the Cam 2 there is a view where Harriet alarms and M15 arrives to the attic, both away and back vocal for a while - maybe they escorted an owl away?

Maybe it is better that you start to follow the Hancock Wildlife Forum for SWFL Eagle Cam - it is boring to talk to oneself only:

I suspect it's dad watching over his chicks?

As peaceful as the little ones ... everything seems to be okay at the moment. Wonderful! :innocent:

The two learn to deal with the heat. It's a pitiful sight, but they make it great.

Both plumage is according to the development ... E18 is totally good before that.
