venegor: did you hear anything there? a little earlier i was also trying to look through the darkening forest to see if there would be animals to come. then i thought i maybe saw something moving there in the rim of the forest but it was too dark already to see well enough. at least i didn't think i saw anything... then i stopped looking, but here's a clip i recorded while i was hoping that someone would come:
i did not see anyone, but what i noticed this morning was that there a rather big off-set in the camera time and the my PC time: the camera time is almost 7 minutes later than my PC. the video files are named according to the start time of the recording, so the above file is named vlc-record-2010-12-14-16h19m47mms___tv.eenet.ee_nova-
so the start time is 16.19.47. when you look at the video the camera time is 16.12.40! that is a rather big difference!
i've already noticed that there's a small difference between my PC time and the seal cam time but that is about 1 minute... at one of the clocks is badly wrong... i'll have to try and check the timing of my PC...
have you others paid attention on the time of the cam and your PCs?
i used the Finnish site which i found first. my PC seemed to be 2 seconds late of the real time. then i tried to adjust my clock but i was so slow in doing it that the clock was going more wrong so i quickly cancelled the whole operation...

it's no problem really if it remains stable and we know about it. i think we should keep an eye on it though, in case it drifts or it's been adjusted. but if the cam clock is similar to the one on the seal beach then it is stable because that hasn't drifted. i don't know about the present PCs but in the old times they had terrible clocks: the time on them used to drift several minutes during 6 months! when the winter- and summer-time changes came, it was not just the hour that had to be changed...
