... there was a little light and now I have the cam open, it is still pretty dark, but there is lots of noise. Ravens are flying about and calling and calling.

8:47 a looong eagle call.

8:57 more eagle calls. several calls.

8:59 one eagle is sitting on the tree top in the Grove but this is not the one who called.

9:36 adult-looking and a young eagle in a tree on the Grove.

Probably this eagle had no rings.

A ringed eagle at 10:00. This has been ringed in SW Finland (white over red on the right leg) and has blue&blue on the left leg, so it is from year 2004 (9th w). All of the code cannot be seen, only 2 on top and 8 below.

Blue/Blue ring have always T letter first. I see T268 on the pics too.

This bird gave beautiful poses but the ring code was difficult to read.

A few minutes after 11 am the camera's streering system went on strike.

Something is wrong with camera operating...

is the zoom non-functional? ... ... 5 eagles down on ground.

Estonian in the centre??
it looks like it has dark over white on right and vice versa on the left...

I can't do nothing... Andres began to operate and then he lost the connection with camera. I tried to connect but nothing. I wrote to Urmas Lett. We must wait....

I spoke with Urmas Sellis. He cann't help us. There is not anyone today, tomorrow will be Tiit there. With camera are some technical problems, it needs restart. Maybe tomorrow they can resolve this.

The malfunction of the camera didn't bother birds: they kept on eating.

Again several eagles visited the feeding place. The rings of only one eagle were read, but possibly there was another individual, too. The markings of the identified bird were

• blue over blue T268 (2004) from SW Finland. This is a new bird to the ground.

The other ringed bird seemed to have Estonian-like colours: dark over white on the right leg and white over dark on the left leg.

the camera is off-line so maybe the repair work is going on. hopefully there's nothing seriously wrong.

Cam is back!

The first ringed eagle of the day was spotted right away: the SW Fin (2004, 9th w) -bird T315 with the rings in "wrong" legs.

Then the camera was off-line for some time again.

I must leave the camera for a while. Urmas Lett wants to do there something...

For every case the upgrade of camera software at the moment occurs, so please be patient.

By 12:30 the camera was working again. This bird has an interesting costume: very dark eyes but the tip of the tail looks white.

No rings ...

T315 gave nice poses.

Same bird but different profiles, flat or fluffed feathers on top of the head.

T letter in first position was used only 2004 and together with blue colour. Green ring was narrower also, and differently positioned codes on.

It has to be brave ringer, who tells publicly about wrong position he/she used... But mistakes happen with humans. Here we can understand right data, but in some cases wrong positions make troubles in data.

Restart was not so easy to do, as nobody was nearby to switch off cam for couple of minutes. So Tiit went from Tallinn and helped us. Thanks, Tiit!

New software seems to play better image now, so problems sometimes have also good side.

Next ringed eagled came into sight at 13:32: an Estonian (blue over white on the right leg) A479 2008 (5th w). The markings on the white top stripe are very worn.

A479 we observed last year also, seems to be female and maybe starts to breed next year somewhere.
She is from Vormsi Island, not far from feeder.
