Re: Fish Camera 2018

Post by asondheim »

I really would like to urge that this camera be moved and kept running - not so much for the fish, but for the amazing pond life / stream life that's evident here. I've shared the site with a number of people, all of whom are watching. It's important to understand that the world isn't dominated by mammals, fish, and birds, but by all those smaller organisms and biomes evident in the Fish Camera. It's an amazing opportunity to see ecology at work at a number of scales. Yes, please, move the camera when necessary, and keep it running!

We will keep the fish camera in one of the Võrtsjärv bays as long as there is still water and visibility for the camera view; the high water will not last for long and the warming of the lake water will make it hopelessly muddy sooner or later

Would there be another suitable location? I've been talking to people - they're excited, this opening onto a world that's almost never shown!

I did not read that  Thank you :2thumbsup:

I will keep all the creatures we can see here in mind, when I am going to visit Võrtsjärv again --- especially when thinking about a barefoot walk along the shore

:hi:
I heard it:
after a week, this place is completely dry. a 100 meter cable is needed to get into the deeper water.
… well, you gotta drive here …

EDIT
I think it means -
… well, you gotta drive here … with the cable
He was speaking with phone

I think so too...
If it means too much effort, then it makes no sense. But for now: I'm very glad :shake:

Yes, you are so right. I really love this camera. A few weeks I peeped in to look after the birds, eggs and chicks :bounce: . And now I am watching fishes, worms, toads and slugs - at night. I never thought that this is so faszinating :loveshower:
