The toads have amazing camouflage when they stay still. Sometimes I keep staring at the camera, sure that there's nothing apart from a few caddisfly larvae, and then a toad takes off from the bottom right in front of the cam. :D

Or maybe it's my middle-aged eyesight...

Hello! I really loved this camera :) and so inspired that wrote this poem. Now I want to print it with illustrations. Therefore, looking for interesting frames at the largest size.

Такие злючки;

Under water

You like nature?
Get in now.
Not knowing of grief,
Near the Baltic sea
In a reserved place
In a tiny river,
I'll tell you a secret,
It happened.

Once upon a time there was a brook,
In the forest itself Tek -
The river murmured,
Call girl.
Came uncle
For what?
Put in the river
Video trap,

In glass sharpened,
Then include
Worldwide network
And Ah look -
That in little water
Is this happening?
As there lives
Bottom people?

Flashed bleak
Little family fun,
Carries them for the -
What fun!
Their fry
So easy,
Transparent as ice -
Almost invisible.

Swims aground
All freckles trout,
Let not beauty,
But someone likes.
That's by the pike –
Come on out!
The evil eye,
Jaw saw!

And fish stickleback –
Predators goryushko:
Thorns axe,
Such spitters.;
Voracious very –
Lack them, however,
Dragonfly larvae
And fish eggs.

Bug-eyed toad
Dived shes,
The bottom fell –
She was surprised herself.
Behind her girlfriend –
Naughty frogs.
Spread your legs –
What are their sneakers!

Webbed duck
Raked for a minute,
We can not see the bottom,
But it does not hurt:
The neck bent,
Bottoms up,
What a joke. –
Half a duck!

But the second,
Also, dives -
Nibbling the grass,
At the bottom of the groove,
Digging in the mud…
Okay, swim.
And the river is not superfluous
A slight lull.

And all of a sudden - Boo!
What was that?
What a bandit
In the driftwood market?
Water vole
Dives deftly,
Fish scares –
Well, sometimes…

It happens all under water –
The so-called aquatic environment.
Someone is afraid, someone tasty,
And terribly tasty... Someone sad –
Well, you and I are sad, brothers.,
After all, the tale is over, it's time to say goodbye.
But this river we will not forget,
We'll be better, won't we, people?

Vee all

Armastad loodust?
Вникай kohe.
Ei tea kurbus,
Läänemere ääres
On заповедном paigas
On крохотной jõe ääres,
Sulle saladuse,
Juhtus see.

Elas-oli käputäis,
Metsas endale tech -
Журчала речонка,
Päris raha девчонкой.
Tuli onu
Mida huvides?
Seadnud речушку
Video lõksu,

Klaas заточили,
Siis lisada
Ülemaailmne võrgustik
Ja noh vaata -
Et väike водице
See toimub?
Kuidas elab seal
Придонный rahvas?

Промелькнули уклейки
Lõbus семейкой,
Kannab neid теченье -
Siin on развлеченье!
Nende maimud
Nii on kerge,
Läbipaistev,kui jää -
Peaaegu невидимки.

Вплывает luhtunud
Kogu веснушках forell,
Ärgu kaunitar,
Kuid keegi meeldib.
Siin on varem haug –
Tulge, noh ka!
Silm kuri,
Lõualuu saag!

Kala ogalik –
Хищникам горюшко:
Топорщат okkad,
Sellised злючки;
Прожорливы väga –
Puudu on neil aga,
Стрекозьих vastsed
Ja kalade omad munad.

Пучеглазая kärnkonn
Нырнула kõvasti,
Põhja свалилась –
Ise tutvustada.
Tema sõbranna –
Vallatu konn.
Растопырили jalad –
Mis neil kets!

Ujulestaline part
Пригребла minut,
Meid alt ei näe,
Kuid ei ole häbi:
Kaela пригнула,
Kuni põhja донырнула,
Et nalja –
Näha paul-part!

Siin on teine,
Ka, sukeldub -
Пощипать rohi,
Põhjas sooned,
Покопаться on veepeegel...
Noh, kõik, уплыли.
Ja jões ei лишне
Väike tuulevaikus.

Ja äkki - страшила!
Mis see oli?
Et bandiit
On корягах чудит?
Vesiroosi uruhiired
Sukeldub osavalt,
Kala hirmutab –
Noh, juhtub...

See juhtub iga vee all –
Nn veekeskkonnaga.
Keegi jube, keegi maitsev,
Ja jube maitsev... keegi kurb –
Noh, see on meil sinuga kurb püsti, poisid,
Sest сказ on möödas, on aeg hüvasti.
Kuid selle jõe me ei unusta,
Ja oleks parem, sest tõde on, inimesed?
Вы любите природу?

Hi all,
lately I have become very fond of this webcam, thank you so much for improving it, and thanks for many comments and pictures!

Around 22:35 I saw what I thought a quite uncommon fish. Unfortunately, it passed so quickly that I didn't get a screeny. :( It was a very slender fish (but not as thin as an eel) with a wide black stripe along the length of its side. After some research I thought it was perhaps a European weather loach [Misgurnus fossilis] (Schlammpeitzger in German)?

Image
(Image: https://lfvbayern.de/lexikon/schlammpeitzger)

Although... maybe not, as the ground for him is perhaps not muddy enough in this stream. Also, it has more than one stripe along its side; but I might not have seen all the details. - Or, are there sturgeon in the stream, perhaps a very young one?
“Animals, like us, are living souls. They are not things. They are not objects. Neither are they human. Yet they mourn. They love. They dance. They suffer. They know the peaks and chasms of being.” (G. Kowalski) Caveat: Apart from this remarkable sentence I do not agree with his philosophies.

The striped fish from my comment last night... saw him again at 17:31 today. Again, it took only 1-2 seconds from appearing from behind the cam to dissappearing in the grass.
Indeed, it had more than one stripe along its side and I'm almost sure it is the E. weather loach.

A caddisfly larva is working hard and persistently to achieve something only itself knows... it grips and carries small sticks and long pieces of leaf, drags them along a bit, then goes on to work on somethings else.

I think it's a great diving beetle (Dytiscus marginalis) that only shimmers green in the light.

Yesss, you've got it, thank you AnSa! Saves me from sitting glued to the screen and fingers on the keyboard shortcuts, waiting for another appearance

Reading up on the weatherfish, it is a beautiful and interesting species: it is called that because it becomes exited and restless when there are sudden changes in air pressure (as in thunderstorms). Also, it has the ability of "breathing" through its guts  - it swallows surface air, which then gets processed through the intestines. This supports the gill breathing so well that it makes the fish able to live in waters with low oxigen conditions. In mating, they entwine each other (I'd love to see that! 8-) )
