Names for the buzzard chicks 2016

Post by Felis silvestris » June 6th, 2016, 6:05 pm

Our two chicks got their rings today, so I think it is time to think about names. In my not authoritative opinion I think from looking at the measurements we've maybe got a boy and a girl on the nest.
We look for some nice Estonian buzzard names.

For help to look for names - here are some web sites with names and their meanings:

http://www.behindthename.com/names/usage/estonian
http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/Category: ... iven_names
http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/Category: ... iven_names

or if you want to go by hatching or other dates:

I'd vote for 'Kaisa' for the female
and 'Imre' for the male.

The suggestion topic will be open until Sunday, when I am back home at my normal PC and internet connection. I will open then the voting for the names. So until then more suggestions can be made.

Okay, we have received a number of suggestions - the suggestion phase is closed now. I have taken out the "Love" and "Joy" because they are not really names and are also not Estonian.

We have this suggestions for a female buzzard:
Aleksandra
Ere
Evi
Hiie
Jelena
Kaisa
Maret
Marta
Sandra
Triinu
Viiu
Viive

And we have this names suggested for a male buzzard:

Aare
Aavo
Aleks
Andres
Ardo
Harri
Hendrix
Imre
Martin
Nuut
Taavi
Uudo

The voting will be open for 3 days and on Wednesday evening I will close it and count the votes.
