18:00 preening
I think Ozols was this time near the nest. Rasa has chirped now and then. Now the Storklets flew away. Perhaps with Dad?

With all their comings and goings the last few days, it's got me wondering how far from the nest they venture before returning. 100 meters? A kilometer? And is it in the direction that would be the route of migration?
Maybe those that have current access to the GPS will post the answer. Just curious..

to protect the nest (birds), data is not available to the public - only when they flew away (migration route)Seymore wrote:With all their comings and goings the last few days, it's got me wondering how far from the nest they venture before returning. 100 meters? Thank you Solo and Liz.
If the GPS has been verified as working, the coordinates are being transmitted even though not currently made "public" at this sensitive location. Very understandable.
I was actually just interested in the measurable physical distance they might be venturing from the nest during these warm-up flights, not the coordinate locations which would give away the nest position. Just curious
Special thank you to Solo for all you do on Sarma news.
