13:21 It is not be very helpful for me if Gaja does not roll the eggs. He gets up, pokes in the nest, is preening himself and settles again on the eggs.

It's a tiring process and there will be a lot of rest periods before it finally hatches. The average length of time between pipping and chick hatching is between twelve and thirty-six hours - in some cases longer.

Our little one is hard working

Now I understood why Gaja is not turning the eggs.
The parents stop turning the eggs and do not touched again them at all. This gives the hatchling a chance to get into the correct position for pipping.

14:51 The egg in the second row in the middle has a hole.
Image

14:53 The egg in first row on the right side with a hole. This is an other egg than that in the first picture.

At 14:52:57 I saw that the egg in the second row on the right (from second picture) has moved a little bit. Not much, but a little.

Thank you very much, Liz, for all your reports and pictures! :2thumbsup:
Unfortunately I have to go away again; I'm back in the later afternoon.

We have little holes in at least two eggs. So that's good that both eggs are "talking".

19:18 Kaupo arrived with a bunch of moss.
Gaja flew away immediately.

This is Gaja few seconds before Kaupos arrival. She called at him, this was so nice to hear. :D
One can see her calling at her ballooned throat.

There is a lot of egg talk, also when Kaupo is already sitting on the eggs.
I have to check the view on the eggs at the change. I just opened the cam when Kaupo arrived.
