It is not a particular rich cam, especially not the direct vicinity of the nest (but still quite a few species). Luckily the quality of the sound is good.
It seems that we are not very far from an edge of the forest, with fields or other open spaces, and perhaps also a more open type of woodland.
Some species were just flying overhead and other stayed only for a short time in the neighbourhood.
Of course it helps much to know the sounds. I did not count how many species I saw, but I guess closer to 10 than to 15.

18:40 A local male Blackbird singing its usual "Here we go, here we go".
But after that he did not go but came back to the nesting tree.
Image
(For those who wonder: this Blackbird has a distinctive and often repeated phrase in its song. Not every Blackbird sings the same.)

Around 19:00 it started to rain.

22:45 Today no eagles seen or heard.

06:10 No new material on the nest.

06:43 An eagle arrived calling on the nest and started to arrange nesting material.
I did not notice him/her bringing anything.
06:45 Left again. Silence.

For some days now a juvenile (Great) spotted woodpecker is calling not far away. It sounds as one, so I don't think it is calling from a nest (unless it is a nest with one young). But I haven't seen it yet.

09:25 A calling eagle with a fresh Alder branch to add to the nest.
09:28 Left again.

Several times this morning I thought to hear (Red) crossbills. I hadn't heard them before, so if it were crossbills, I don't believe they are breeding locally.

No visible change to the nest.

Not one bird heard yet since start at 07:30, meaning there is no sound.
This makes the cam virtually of no use to me. Staring at the stream is no option.

12:16 Suddenly an awful lot of noise. This is worse than nothing.
But does it mean that they are working on it?

12:27 More or less normal sound again but still crackling, but the birds can be heard. Hooray!

Erm... still not good. Soft noise, mixed with nothing and loud noise and sometimes normal..
I will try later again.

Around 14:15 the sound seemed to stabilise around normal, a bit.
Later is was real OK.

A Nuthatch had us something to show.
Image

~15:30 The heavy rain has reached this area.

20:13 The sound stopped again.

No eagles seen or heard today, but because of the problems with the sound, the only thing I can be sure of is that no material was brought to the nest. And if there were eagles visiting the nest, it was not for long.

06:30 No visible change to the nest and the cam still without sound.

~08:30 Real sound mixed with noise. Often too much noise to listen to.
After more struggling it became better later.

07:00 No visible change to the nest and the sound is fine.

Although the eagles really seem to have left (last one seen three days ago), I keep on hanging to this cam because of the great soundtrack. Eagles will be a bonus. I don't expect substantial activities from them anymore.

17:08 Calling eagle flying around for a while but not in sight.

17:23 Arrival on the nest. Not bringing new nesting material but rearranging old. Calling and preening.
17:32 Watching the sky for quite some time. Who was there?
17:38 Leaving the nest.

17:45 Back with a dead branch.
17:54 Leaving

20:26 Without announcement both arrived a the nest, one (male?) with a frog. He left immediately. She ate the frog, called and left at 20:28.

Between 21:20 and 22:00 several times calls not far away.

22:03 Again an arrival and quick change or touch and go. I don't think a pray was delivered.
22:08 Remaining bird left.

Image

23:00
A surprising day again. Nothing to expect and then at the end of the day four visits and even male and female on the nest together. One of the busiest days in a long time.

No visible change to the nest.

10:45 The stream is weak today and because of the strong wind sometimes the sound is cut off.

From around 14:00 heavy rain
Image

22:05 Already almost dark.
A lot of birds and a lot of bad weather today, but no eagles.

07:30 No visible changes to the nest. It is raining.

11:35... Eagle calls not far away for some time but nobody came to the nest.

From ca 12:30 problems with the sound.

<12:52 Eagle on the nest. Arrival missed because of the missing sound.
12:53 Leaving

13:02 ... Calls.
13:52 ... Calls.

20:19 Arrival of calling eagle on nest. Bringing a frog.
Calling all then time. I think he sounds a bit unusual but the frog points to a resident (male?)
20:25 Leaving, with the frog.

(08:15) No visible change to the nest.
A lot of wind causes problems with the sound.

- 12:00 Sound completely off for over an hour already.
- There was no sound at all for hours. After that it was off and on for hours. Only when the wind diminished in the late afternoon, the interruptions stopped.

23:05 Today no eagles seen or heard.

0630 No visible change to the nest

06:55 Ravens calling not far away
07:44 Cranes came calling low overhead and then calling in the background.

In a short time around 14:40 an Icterine warbler, a Marsh tit and a Nuthatch were on the nest.
Here the Marsh tit

23:00 it is raining
For the fourth day in a row no eagles seen or heard, but usually the soundscape is still a pleasure and for me this makes the cam easy to keep an eye on.

(04:30) No visible change to the nest. A soft rain and singing birds.
Later a singing Greenish warbler (Phylloscopus trochiloides) in the background. An unexpected new species this late in the season. (added to the list)
