Half of the nest is gone. Collapsed overnight.
It is the part where the eagle was building.

What a shame. It is probably not a coincedence she has been working on exactly that spot on the nest. There was already a dent; must have been a weak spot.
Last night when it was dark I thought I heard heavy rain. But on this cam there is always noise, wind or rain. Sometimes I wonder if there is wind all the time or if there is something wrong with the microphone.

As you can see now, that part of the nest has almost no foundation. The bent branch on the left once was probably a main support but the load became too heavy. And probably the heavy rain of last night/early morning proved too much for the construction.

The sound of this cam is not ideal as far as bird sound is concerned but I don't think it is causing noise. It is just wind in the forest.

21:52 The hole is much bigger now and it rains heavily. If this continues the rest may fall down as well.
Luckily there are no chicks now.

It was a dull day with a lot of wind and almost no birds, but now the ruined nest was like a pot of gold.

14:15 There is someone sawing. I also heard clinging of metal.
Let's hope he is not going to remove the camera.

Yes, probably an axe.

14:42 Still working. I saw movement behind the nest, through the hole.
No voices, so it must be one person. What is he doing?

Meanwhile a Blue tit in the nesting tree and a Tree creeper in the tree behind it.
