Ugis thinks, there are at least five females.
It must have been a bad fight. As I understood, Ugis wants to go to the forest today at 6:00

OMG, FIVE females!!! I tried to translate from the latvian forum, and if I understood correctly, one of the eagles may be from Estonia? A terrible drama, how can this end :slap:

Thank you, Liz!

It looks like an Estonian ring. I sent a mail to Urmas asking him about it.

Urmas writes that the LSE is in fact Estonian, most probably ringed by Joosep. But Joosep can't be reached at the moment, as he is on bird count. I hope once he is able to get online, we will hear a bit more.
So nice to see an Estonian LSE here, I hope she (I guess it is a lady, being fed by the other one) will be there to stay!

News about "KL" from Joosep via Urmas:

The bird was ringed on 20.07.2012 in Jõgevama by Joosep.

I checked a bit the history of our LSEs.
Our so sad Stephi from Tuuli and Remo's nest got her ring "KS" on July 9th from Joosep, and Kalev, from Eha and Koit's nest got his "KV" ring on the same day as our Lady here, also from Joosep.

Thank you for the intersting information, Felis.
So the female is from the same year as Stephi and Kalev, and also Miks,in Metra and Maco`s nest. It was a very dramatic season, and chicks in three LSE nest. Both Stephi and Miks was attacked by Goshawk, if I remember correctly.
It will be intersting to see what happens in this nest, it seems that the Estonian lady has spent some time in it today. Unfortunateley I have busy days, and not much time to watch, so I`m very grateful for the latvian forum.

Yes, both, Stephi and Miks were attacked by goshawks. For Stephi it was fatal, sadly.

From the forest LSE voices can be heard, I have not seen any today morning.

Sweet memories :D

Little Kalev under Joosep´s hat .... Joosep had put it on Kalev to stay calm, while he was preparing rings and tools
