16:25:30 a pygmy owl whistled.
16:29:30 again a call.
16:35:05 again. he is not far, his voice is so loud.
16:37:00 again a call but from a longer distance (?)
maybe this was another owl or "our" owl had flown farther. i didn't her him again (at least for a while).

good morning!
thank you for the observations!
the snow is still on the nest. will it stay there all winter?
äääh, no. now i watched the video. that was a silly question. it was still quite dark.
7:44 the bird who called before the owl was a grey heron. it's rather late for a grey heron to be still here.
i happened to hear the owl once, at 7:59:15.

Liz, did you see the animal under the nest or were there sounds only?Liz01 wrote: ↑December 2nd, 2020, 7:05 am ...

9:32 footsteps of a large animal, an elk or a red deer. the pace of steps is so slow and "heavy". the light makes it impossible to see anything on the ground.

10:35 still/again sounds of footsteps from under the nest. the animal has said nothing. it could as well be a boar. the walking is quite effortless, with no stumbling or "looking for" a place where to step. it sounds like a walk on a raked path in a park.

This description sounds almost lyrical. Nice that with the busy summer over, flying sirens own and foreign having set out towards new frontiers, the resulting peace allows time for an extended contemplation of footsteps beneath the nest

15:20 a woodpecker came to work somewhere quite near the microphone. the tapping was loud.
15:21 a swan or two flew by quite near but out of sight.

he didn't bring anything.

he worked for a while, moving some sticks to new places.

and fly.
15:39 he flew away.

15:49 - 57 loud footsteps from the ground.
... i can't see anyone... maybe it would be possible to see something in fast-forward?
- that didn't help either.
