22:50 the spider came to work again. she climbed down from the top and it seemed as if she landed on one light stick in the front of the nest and walked on the stick a short stretch. then she climbed back up. (for some reason i think it's a female although it could of course be a male, too.)
Image

22:55 on the next trip downstairs she seemed to land on the same spot where she started to climb up on the previous trip.

thank you Sonchik!
i missed this arrival because the woodpecker didn't make any sounds (unusual!). instead a grey heron called.
it was a juvenile great spotted woodpecker. she/he flew over the meadow to the top and then came to look at the camera. then she/he went to the top.

5:55 a great spotted woodpecker flew near and called.... the woodpecker climbed up the trunk and went behind it.
then an adult male flew to the top.

the first flew to the left branch. this was a juvenile.
Image

the young woodpecker flew away.
something like flakes began to drop from the top. apparently the male was peeling cones up there.

i didn't find anything interesting in the evening. not even the spider was there. it was a little windy, not much, but maybe that was too much for the spider.
