the other eaglet is calling somewhere in the vicinity of the nest, but not quite next to it. that sounds like Pukite i think. it is getting impatient...
no, i was wrong. Pukite was in the nest and Makonite was the caller. she came home and pushed Pukite out. the nest owner Makonite, bad girl Makonite!
the sound comes too early in my live recording: eaglets scream before Makonite comes and before she pushes pukite out. so i have replaced my live recording with the Pontu clip of this event.
now she is lying down in the nest.

16:59 Both eaglets on the nest. One (Makonite?) is eating something, the other (Pukite?) is watching and waiting...
17:16 Makonite finished eating this prey and Pukite came closer to look for rests, he took some morsels, but 17:17 Makonite attacked him and pushed to the nest rim.
17:20 Makonite decided to rest.
17:22 Pukite flew off, Makonite is resting
18:22 Makonite is still resting on the nest bowl

food delivery Time 20:35:52
Lubana brought the prey
it took a while before one eaglet was in the nest. He was in no hurry.
Then came the second eaglet into the nest
the picture quality is poor. The light is not good. I do not know who is who- I think it is Makonite

... but no-one came and he couldn't hear any voices... so he left at 20:58. the prey (the fish) he left in the nest.

Sartas is on the nest
i think Sartas had some food, probably a fish, when he came at 20:45. he stood and listened and waited...Hellem wrote:20:49 Sartas is standing on the nest.

the next morning (Mon Aug 18th) at 5:29 the eaglets were calling somewhere rather far and Sartas called quite near the nest. i guess that he must have stayed near there over night. Lubana replied to him from even longer distance than the eaglets.
5:39 Sartas flew in the nest and took his fish. i think that i heard some motorboat noise after that. Sartas listened.. and then there was a lot of strange noise or voices which i'm not sure what it was. first it sounded like voices and noise from a growd of people but that it could not be i think... i guess there were geese who made those voices. Sartas wasn't at all alarmed about those sounds. at 5:44 Sartas left and took his fish with him.
soon there were a lot of eaglets screaming from further in the forest so i guess that Sartas found someone who wanted to have his fish.

yesterday morning at 7:09 an eaglet flew from the back left around the nest to the right, landed somewhere near and called. then Pukite came in and looked for leftovers in the nest for a while. he left at 7:19.
9:49 an eaglet flew to the nest after calling in the forest for a while. i think it was Pukite.. he lay down.
he lay in the nest till 10:57 when he flew away. after a minute or two there was a lot of squeaking voices from the forest.
- i don't have more Pontu clips yet.... except one! this is from Sunday morning when the eaglets spent a long time at the nest together, Pukite perching on the left branch and Makonite lying in the nest. a little before 10 am some birds came to entertain the eaglets. at 9:51 a golden oriole whistled a little to them... then a tree-creeper came to say hello to them. it landed on the right trunk for a few seconds. it's so intriguing to see such a little bird together with the eaglets. the eaglets listened and looked at these birds with interest.
good night!

Thank you for that video - it was really interesting . It is fascinating to think of the 'world' the birds live in - seeing other birds and eating somewhere else - I am so curious
