Maybe Makonite has a home for the rainy seasons and only comes when it is dry? :D

there were a lot of little birds investigating the nest for quite some time. some were also rattling next to the camera and then one of them began to sing there. i began to record the beautiful song... and then suddenly other kind of voices began approaching from the forest: the eagles were coming! the little birds flew out of the nest when Lubana and both eaglets arrived. eaglets were screaming as if fire were loose.
the arrival of the eagles brought to my mind the Riding of the Valkyries.
(here's a recording which can be played in the background while you watch the gif:

both make my skin become goosepimpled)

Lubana had a fish which Makonite took (naturally). Lubana stepped on the back branch. surprisingly Makonite didn't kick Pukite out as well though she almost did.
Image

she was in favourable mood today: she only screamed at Pukite and made faces. :vangry:

then Makonite pushed Pukite a bit further away...

both Pukite and Makonite screamed to Lubana as long as she was there.

Makonite pulled out some pink tapeworm out of the fish

now Makonite pushed Pukite out of the nest to the back branch. let's see which prey she decides to eat: the fish or the bird. :D

Pukite is clever: he knows that Makonite can't possibly eat all that even though she is making a good effort! :D
if he just stays around he'll get the rest.

i was so lucky there as i was watching the little birds who were in the nest with my finger ready on the button. all i had to do was to click - click -click -click -click -click -click -
here's the video which i recorded. the sound comes again ahead of picture like it does in live recordings.
i'll replace this with the corresponding Pontu clip as soon as i get it processed. -the funniest thing was that the little bird kept singing next to the camera all the time.
one can hear its voice again after Lubana was gone and the kids went quiet.
this is the Pontu clip of the delivery:

and here's the video of Sartas bringing the bird. i think it was some sort of a gull. (maybe a black-headed gull but i didn't see well how it looked; the black-heads are just common on the lake).
the sound comes too early again in my live recording so i've replaced it with the Pontu clip.

Makonite is getting full i think. now she's screaming to Pukite because of that.
she's dragging the remains of the bird around the nest.

Pukite sneaked to the nest via the two left branches and took the fishtail which was big.
Image

Makonite screamed at him but let him ate it for a while before she kicked him out. Pukite took the rest of the fish with him. well done, Pukite! :2thumbsup:
Image

12:27 it looks almost like Makonite is sleeping standing up.

Pukite tried to sneak into the nest taking again a route from branch to branch but Makonite was not in a mood to to let him in. she kicked Pukite out.

he didn't go far though: i heard him coming back and landing nearby with a crash. Makonite got up to the left branch.

hah! Pukite flew in and stole the remains of the bird. Makonite couldn't get fast enough from the left branch to stop him and so Pukite took the rest of the bird with him when he flew out! :loveshower: :rotf:
it seems that Pukite took his time to make sure that he had a good grip of the bird before he took off.
if birds would laugh i could swear that Pukite was laughing out loud when he took off and flew away. :rotf:
this is a trick which he has just learned.
Image

now Makonite is standing in the nest and ranting to herself or to Pukite. maybe she can see him.

the sound is too early again in the live recording. and uploading to the Tube was extremely slow.......... :faint:

13:12 Lubana came with a fish! this is a busy day.
eaglets have been crying in the forest... it seems that Lubana has managed to make them loose track of her.
she waits for a while, looking around and listening...
Image

no eaglets. she begins to eat.

13:32 an eaglet called a few times from rather near but it didn't come. Lubana began preening herself in peace. :innocent:

eaglets started screaming and crying in the forest at 14:24 and have done it since then, not all the time but every now and then. first it sounded like delivery crying.

Ame, the little birds are greenfinch. I hear and see it every day on my balcony. It is amazing how quickly the other birds, great tits? were away from the nest. They know the the cries of the Valkyries :rotf:
Ame, you really have a fertile imagination. You can tell very amusing storys
