hello little visitor!
this we haven't seen earlier although the voice has been heard: yellowhammer.
edit: Emberiza citrinella, goldammer auf Deutch.
it's probably hiding from the storm.

i guess it is a male. the yellow colour in the head is rather bright but it's not as bright and colourful as in the spring, not yet. the lower back will also become rusty-brown.
12:32 it stretched its wings!

12:36 it begins preening... and stretched the tail and wings again.
two yellowhammers!
maybe the second was Mrs Yellowhammer who came to fetch Mr Yellowhammer home. the head has no bright yellow colour.
then i made a mistake with my recording and when i got started again it was gone.
i made a close-up clip of them.

this doesn't seem to be an eagle day, not in this kind of weather.
i have been looking back in time, to the day when Vents brought his bride-to-be to the nest for the first time. that was on July 29th.
viewtopic.php?p=491379#p491379
this is what the nest looked like then. Shilute is on the nest and Vents on the balcony.
in this picture is the nest now or actually two days ago, exactly 5 months later. Vents was sitting on the balcony again but Shilute was somewhere else. what an enormous change! they have brought masses of material to the nest. the surface is now at least 20 cm higher than it was, maybe even 30 cm higher.
