edit: also the voice of the tawny owl is quite different than the voice of the pygmy, unless the tawny has a voice resembling some voice of the pygmy, but their songs are quite different. i think that we know tawny's voice by now.

To mee this "mystery" owl sounds like a shy or douptful Boreal Owl (aegolius funereus) who is wondering if he should already start his springtime song .

yesterday i was googling for fox voices in Finnish (which was dumb; i don't know why) but today i tried looking in English. the first thing which popped up was this video:

at about 1 min 30 s from the start of the video is exactly the kind of voice which was heard here. StarFoxFan4641 (the compiler of the video) calls this call "fox bark".

there's the same ho-ho-ho -voice again. it started at 16:54 and went on for a while. i made a clip of the loudest calls.
