Beautiful!

I'm so happy! There's a couple of Eurasian Jay's (Garrulus glandarius) nestled in my backyard. In a very old and high taxus tree (Taxus baccata). A lot of traffic. That's the first time we have them in the garden! I guess it's still too early for eggs...

Are you completely sure that it is the same male who goes together with the girl

It's Raimis. I hope he hasn't already lost his new girlfriend! :puzzled:
Maybe she just went fishing?

If it's not a male, i wonder what kind of game she was playing with the girl this morning at 6:50 ?

Anne! :rotf:

this could be quite another bird, someone who has never been here before.

edit: the back edge of the wing has a straight angle. this could even be Tramp... or who was it who had the straight angle in the back edge? :puzzled:

Ame, look again at the landing. The spots on this tail aren't the big spots from Tramp. Looks like it is Raimis, except if it's his twin brother...
You never know on this nest!

15:54 the eagle flew out. it waited an hour and nearly 10 min.

Anne, i think you were right: the spots on the tail were too small for Tramp.
maybe all girls have gone fishing?

Yes, or maybe they sit together cosily in the spa. Recovering from a tough weekend.

Edit:
But seriously: I'm very surprised to see how these subadult eagles behave.
They change partners all the time. A little promiscuous, one could say.
It's kind of a miracle that they suddenly become very faithful once they're adults.

no they don't. i changed also the first title when i made the exit- video.
in general the white-tailed eagles have had male voices and the spotty-bottomed eagles have had female voices in the past few days so i assume that they are those.

now i had time to study the events in Saturday evening. i'm sure that the were two spotty girls at the nest. they were having some argument and the males assisted.
i made some new clips which i think show this.
a spotty female on the nest together with a male. a third eagle attacks. the pair on the nest possibly didn't belong together.

18:10 a spotty female with white spots on the breast flew out and within seconds another spotty came in. the latter had large black spots on her tail which look like an anchor pattern to me. she also has "pearls" on her back.

i made a picture of their full profiles. to me these are two different individuals. i don't know which is Erna. :puzzled:

18:12 the spotty female with white spots on her breast (White-Breast or WB) was on the nest and a male joined her. another female called outside the nest. the spotty WhiteBreast flew out.

18:14 to me it seemed that here was a wrong male when a spotty female came to the nest. she flew out and a third eagle followed her.

8:16 the White-Breasted spotty female came into the nest and she called with the male (i have no idea who was who in the male section). she flew out and another spotty female arrived almost immediately. the latter has "pearls" on her back (Pearly-Back or PB) and the anchor-shaped pattern on her tail. i think that this female was the one who was here this morning.

18:31 a white-tailed male and a spotty female flew out. a second spotty arrived very soon but left right away. the first spotty female returned.
