good morning!

thank you for your reports and remarks!
especially the comments of yesterday evening's supper are valuable.

i think Abigyl mentioned me because she knows that i have a special interest in the food item. i must confess that i didn't look at the food itself well enough. i was more interested to see who brought the food. it's important that the nature of the food came into question, too.
i took yesterday pictures frame by frame from the video and now made two pictures from them.
to me this looks like a webbed foot
Image

this is actually a combination of 5 frames, all taken within the same second ( the video takes about 23-24 frames per second). frames 4 an 5 are consecutive frames.
i think this was some waterbird. Raimis brought water weeds with it so i think this came from the same place as the fish with green that he usually brings. - this leaves of course the question when did those spruce twigs arrive. i'll have to check that later. i'll also take more pictures from the later eating part.
Image

i don't easily believe that Raimis brings here any farm animals.

Good Morning !

Thanks Balistar for the work and your answer.

As you can see in your quotes, the first msg was for all, but no body saw it's a :chick:

I wrote again to Ame, because she wrote later that it's a fish. I wanted her to recheck it. That's all!

And sometimes I'm writing to her in the evening when we are alone, or when it's about nest's history or astronomy.
I'm very glad that this season was interesting , so now there are many new eagles friends

People who are here for the last 5 y know me well; not looking for honor or dealing with "politics". All I want is the best future for this nest and its eagles of all generations.

Nice weekend and a quiet day to our eaglets

it was a busy morning again. i have made videos from this morning and they are uploading as i write this. i shan't have time to post them before later in the afternoon but they will be available in my channel.

it seems that Robis flew to the top of the nest tree after she flew away from the spruce on the right. Vilnis looked at her long times and they called to each other. Robis also stayed in the top when Vilnis flew out after the rain started.
after a long time Robis dropped down from the top to clean what was left after the breakfish that Vilnis ate.

Hello all,
hello ame,

*1)
I thought i see "3 fingers/or toes", but not webbed. So what could it have been? I also think it was most likely a young waterbird, not yet matured.
Maybe the word "chicken", what Abigyl used, was tempted to think of a farm animal.
In German the word "chicken" means this (Huhn), the word "chick" (Küken) is used for "childs", as well as from birds as from some others (Federvieh), also these from chickens, (colloquially even for human children, 'chick' for babies-juveniles and 'chicken' for subadults -but here mostly for girls- :whistling: ). Therefore in my answer i wrote "chick/en", because i am not a specialist in English and wasn't sure taking the right term.

I thought of a possible connection with the motor race, which is why Raimis brought no fish? :puzzled:

*2)
Exactly the same thought I had when I opened today the stream and the thread. In the photos that Bawet set from the very early morning, this spruce twig was already visible.
By the way: Bawet, thanks for the pictures and reviews of what happened this morning in and around the nest.

I would also like to know how and when this spruce twig came into the nest and I'm curious to see what you find out.

Hello Abigyl,
thanks for your reply.

Yes, I'm sure there are many new eagles friends !
Even if i don't post anything, I'm very often online until late in the night (my biorhythm makes me an owl and not a lark ) - maybe there are others, too, who are watching and reading? So you're not "alone" (at least not always)

That's what we certainly all want, not only for this nest, but of all our observed nests :D :2thumbsup:

:hi:

Chicken - for me it's a big bird; I don't know many water birds.

I know a gull, geese, swan but not all the kinds you have there in the Baltic.

All I saw was a "chicken leg" similar to what people are cooking

I'm learning much about birds here but each season they bring new kinds. With Durbertina there was also a water bird, White-grey with long thin legs, we didn't see such a bird this year.

ED: Was it a Coot then? :puzzled:

thank you for your reports and comments! :2thumbsup:
i have a video of the fish delivery by Raimis at 144:¤0. this was definately a tail part of a brown fish.
Milda was again the fastest to arrive. when the fish song by an eaglet started Raimis flew almost at once. Milda stayed a little longer, but also she left before Robis arrived.

14:57 the fish was gone. an eaglet flew towards the nest tree from the left. i think he landed on the tip of the nest tree. it was impossible to see the extra shaking of the tree because the wind was shaking the tree so much.
Robis screamed and looked up so i am sure that Vilnis was up there.
14:58:37 Robis jumped a little and looked suddenly to the right. then she slowly relaxed. i'm sure that Vilnis flew away then.

15:05 Robis flew out.

this morning:

6:54 Vilnis flew in followed by Raimis with a fish. Raimis flew away. Robis flew to the outer left branch and tried to get in and steal the fish from under Vilnis' tail. Vilnis kicked her out. :slap:

7:02 Vilnis started to eat the fish under mantle. Robis creid in the forest nearby.

7:09 Vilnis cried and finished eating.

7:39 it was a stale-mate situation. Vilnis called down on the nest and looked up at Robis who was calling up in the top.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DxMX8ck16m0

7:48 Vilnis was upset and didn't know where to be and what to do... he went to the left branch but came back down again.

7:54 Robis called on the top. it began to rain. this made Vilnis feel uncomfortable. at last he flew away.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VgCOPGg6qp8

Robis stayed on the top.
8:04 she called upstairs.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n_bgQDCUewY

8:10 Robis called on the top many times. Vilnis called nearby in the forest at least once. (i didn't systematically search for his calls because they would be very difficult to find without listening all through the video.)
