11:39 both worked together...
11:40 Milda went to the top branch. Raimis continued working.

there were tough battles at this nest in 2017. Raimis won the match of males and Milda chased away other girls. that was an even more tough competition.

11:42 Milda flew away.

also spring 2016 was very restless. the previous female Durbe (2015 mother of Durbertina) disappeared in the winter and the male Robert came back with an injured foot.
already before that there were several strange birds visiting and more came along the spring.
i found out later that Robert's foot was injured when he came to the nest for the first time after the winter break. we waited so hard for Durbe and Robert to return that we saw Robert in every un-ringed bird who came. Durbe had rings but she never returned...

one couple went steady for a few weeks (Egle and Ansis) but the female Egle got bored and stopped coming.
in the summer 2016 we had a lovely couple Vents and Shilute. the female Shilute rebuilt the nest during the winter but she disappeared in next January 2017.

11:47 Milda brought a stick. Raimis flew out because Milda was aiming at his back as a landing ground. Raimis flew to an oak in the middle, behind the poop branch. he landed there.
Milda arranged sticks on the nest.

11:48 (nearly 49) Milda got up to the top branch.
11:49:00 Raimis flew away from the oak to the left. after that Milda flew out and followed him to the left.

i made a close-up clip of Raimis flying to the tree and then away from there.

not all the way. Raimis knocked one stick which knocked another but neither of them dropped.
both looked that way to see what there was. :D

11:55 Milda to top branch. Raimis to the outer left branch.

11:56 Raimis flew out.

someone has been here! the sticks and hay are in different order than half an hour ago.
16:04 Milda brought a big fresh spruce twig.
16:05:about 05 Raimis flew from the left towards the pond. he seemed to touch one tree top and then he continued to fly a loop above the pond. finally he flew to the right under the poop branch. i can't see how far he flew but i think he landed here:

Thanks for details of emergence of our couple and today also.
It is necessary to read forums for 2016 in more detail.
How you think, who is an owner of a nest at eagles, a male or a female? Who chooses a nest and begins to fight for it respectively?

Results of today:

09:56

10:26:50 Deers appear between trees to the right of a nest and go on the left.

...
Decorah eagle nest, male has disappeared, female has a new mate at the same nest. Big Bear nest, male has disappeared, female stayed at the nest and has a new mate, Hungarian WTE, male has disappeared, female has a new mate and is still there.
Latvian nest, Durbe has disappeared, Shilute has disappeared. With the female eagle, the male disappeared as well.
EDIT: I forgot, even at SWFL Nest, Florida, the male disappeared and the female has a new mate

I think the females have a closer relationship to the nest?
Or maybe they can better defend the nest? I dont know. :dunno:

Nest with little snow, like yesterday. :hi:

Liz, your list made me sad  I hope this season will be nicer with all the new (young?) males.
