In the list ame made about visitors in 2015:
"8.9. Latvian H362 with individual code K096. This eagle was the youngest of three siblings in the previous nest of Durbe and Robert in 2014. Just half an hour earlier the eaglet Durberta was seen flying away from her nest forest for the last time. "

thank you hyypiö!
that would make sense. the blue colour on the left ring is an illusion created by the mud (perhaps?)

If it was born 2014, is it possible that it's looking for a place to create a family?

Is it 4th or 5th winter?

I'll never learn this calculation :rotf:

This is the time of th viditors!

Every year during fall lots of eagles are viiting this nest while they are looking for a nest for their family.

If it's only a quiet visit like today - OK!

But when they start a fight and wants to take over the nest - It can become very ugly. Like we suffered in 2016.

Hope the couple will be around and will prepare the nest for next generation.

Could it be the same eagle that came here some months ago and we had a discusion if that was Milda or an eagle with the ring?

To me it doesnt seem like an eagle of 4 years old, but if we can know that from the ring, thats amazing :D

Raimis and Milda are taking a last sunbath on the shore of Durbes lake, swiming and fishing and enjoyng the good weather

Winter and rain will come only on the last decade of the month.

Now there are the leftovers of the 2 Huriccanes arriving soon even to the north, to Norway :

Hurricane Leslie - was only above the ocean, and will enter portugal, Spain and France during weekend, with tropical weather and very high temps.
Today, 30deg on the south and 27-8 in paris. They say it's a record never seen before in October and it'll.
https://www.wunderground.com/hurricane/ ... ecast&MR=1

Michael - Post-Tropical hurricane, is taking almost the same way to Europe, a little later in coming week.

I found a weather forcast for Riga, till the end of October.

i have now made some pictures of our visitor for identification purposes.
the tail in two pictures. two spots which are about the same size as those of Raimis. the spots of Raimis have become smaller than they were in spring 2017. this looked a lot like Milda's tail at the first glance.
Image

regular border between the black back and white tail with big round-tipped dark feathers on the border. no "mustache" stripes on the outer edges of the tail like Raimis has.

the right side. the bird didn't show the right side properly later when the light was better.
Image

the left side in slightly better light.
Image

the profile of the head. i think this is a male's beak.
Image

Urmas once said that females have such long beaks that they seem to go on and on a long way straight before the tip turns down. he illustrated this by showing a Pinocchio's nose (after telling a lie) with his hand.
Pinocchio's nose was straight to the tip but you'll get the idea from here. male's beak is like the good Pinocchio's nose: short and curves down 'quickly'.
