that was a nice observation, thank you!
it was a halo effect caused by sun light reflected by ice crystals high in the atmosphere.
Wikipedia:
"A light pillar is an atmospheric optical phenomenon in the form of a vertical band of light which appears to extend above and/or below a light source. The effect is created by the reflection of light from numerous tiny ice crystals suspended in the atmosphere or clouds. The light can come from the Sun (usually when it is near or even below the horizon) in which case the phenomenon is called a sun pillar or solar pillar. It can also come from the Moon or from terrestrial sources such as streetlights. "
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Light_pillar
i don't remember seeing it before here. (but what do i remember; we may have seen it before, too.)
i made a video of several clips of the development of this phenomenon:
it's quite dark. only the Mars is in the sky.

Ame,
The video of the flame, is a video of the Morning Jay.
I'm glad you all liked the pillar. I thought it's a kind of rainbow; thanks for the info about this
Mars was here till 22:35. Hope weather will be nice next weekend, with the full moon.

Good morning
Thanks for reporting and pictures
another friendly visitors this morning, and the first raven was very eloquent, too
11:12:33
But who was this big bird flying in the upper right corner ?
I could not recognize it despite slow-mo, it was too fast for me.
Could it have been an eaglet or rather not ?

a lot of rather big birds have visited the the today.
7:02 a few Great tits.
https://youtu.be/PcbneSJXDQM
11:12 a raven who went upstairs.
11:15 another raven who also went upstairs.
https://youtu.be/H9WoM2zPewI
11:23 a third raven who went upstairs, too. no-one flew away, or at least i didn't see anyone flying away or the tree shaking from take-off(s).
perhaps it was the same raven again and again. who can say.

11:35 a clear case of a sparrowgoshawk like Liz wrote.
11:40 it flew away from the top to the lower right.
https://youtu.be/ePod3ujdWFg
11:40 a big bird flew by or away from the top of the tree to the uppr right.
i think it was flying by because i think i saw a shadow passing on the "nest" at the same time. also the tree didn't shake.
the bird was very dark and to me it looked like a raven. it was seen for only a second or two and against the sunlight. all bird look dark in those conditions.

while searching the big bird at 11:40 who was mentioned by balistar
i found this one in the same minute
oh i forgot the time stamp, i will add it later.
edited again, the bird on the first two pictures looks like an eagle, perhaps even white tail

yes, the tips of the wings of the later bird have 'fingers' like in eagle's wings.
Biker's pictures are in reverse time order: the bird who flew high against the sky flew after the stripy bird (the sparrowgoshawk) had flown down closer to the camera on right.
11:34 the arrival of the hawk.
this looks so big that i think it might be a genuine goshawk. this is about the same size as ravens are. that's the size range of goshawks, larger than crows.
11:40 the departure of the hawk.
20 s later the big bird flew by.
a goshawk would not like to meet an eagle i think.
