10.06 Vilnis lets Robis catch the fish
Image

10.07 Vilnis jumps on the branch and Robis has already eaten the piece.
Image

10.14 Robis has collected crumbs, cleaned his beak and now the question is, to whom does the branch belong.

... i search for sounds with the Solveigh AVI trimmer by looking at the 'sound track' (the intensity curve) under the picture window.
here's a picture with an eaglet approaching (top left corner) and creaming starting (red ellipse on lower line)
Image
here's the video of this event. one of the eaglets (Vilnis?) flew from the left and around the nest tree and landed somewhere near. also the other eaglet was somewhere near. both started to call in turns. also some jays called.
https://youtu.be/PpudH6w03SM

6:07 both eaglets went on calling.
6:09 one of them flew to the top of the nest tree. it was probably Vilnis (but i'm not sure about their voices anymore :slap: ). the other called nearby.

Dear Abigyl :hi:
I often saw this * Cobra * position in the Tawny owl (Strix aluco) and the eagle owl (Bubo bubo). Mostly when they feed chicks. With Klaara and Klaus it is not so good because the box is small.

Hello. I follow this nest and chat for some time. I would like to say something about the ‘cobra-posture’.
An eagle can’t move his eyes far down. So when he wants to look at the fish between his legs, he has to turn his head to his chest and downwards to be able to focus the fish into vision.
It’s something I’ve seen often when the forrest-owl feeds her children. To see the little one between her legs, she does exactly the same.
Lucia 65 :hi: welcome to the forum

6:12 Vilnis jumped to the left branch.
https://youtu.be/MVJPXlSuFss

6:17 - 6:47 Vilnis called on hte branch and Robis called in the forest nearby.
(this morning there wasn't much any wind at all so it was easier to find th calls of the more distant eaglet from the 'soundtrack' than yesterday. i believe that yesterday the eaglets talked much in a similar way).
https://youtu.be/JgPzSE8xoH4

6:49 - 7:37 the conversation continued.
https://youtu.be/nGDaWkt15Cw

7:14 - 15 i think i heard calls of a honey buzzard (maybe two birds, probably circling in the sky).

7:38 the talks continued. Vilnis came down from the branch to the nest.
https://youtu.be/Z3HzIseIReg

7:40 Vilnis worked with the twigs and sticks on the nest. finally he rubbed his bottom against the nest.

7:42 - 7:46 the eaglets continued talking...

7:50 - 7:56 talks continued...
https://youtu.be/ezAH3xDHn_k

7:56 Vilnis was looking at something on his back then he pulled his wing feathers (this didn't look like preening). maybe there was some dirt or insects which he wanted to pick away? :puzzled:

7:59 vilnis made wE & CE on the nest (tore down the nest construction :whistling: )
8:03 (nearly) he jumped to the left branch

8:06 - 8:14 the eaglets went on with their dialogue. usually Robis called first and then Vilnis replied.
https://youtu.be/rJFWce7kFfs

8:15 Vilnis returned to the nest.

8:22 Robis flew to the top of the nest tree. this caused a lot more talk.

8:26 Vilnis got excited about Robis coming so near as to the top. so he started a series of WE & CE.

8:29 Vinis jumped to the left branch.
8:30 back to the nest.
8:31 back to the branch. he had 'ants in his pants'.
https://youtu.be/KLcsgoUsNzk

8:32 Vilnis went up to the top branch. probably to stare Robis away from the top.
https://youtu.be/xIkdlcj7Aew

8:35 no success so Vilnis returned to the nest.

8:45 the eaglets began the fish song...
a fishie!
Image

by Raimis who flew away. his tail looks terrible. :slap:
Image

Vilnis took the fish and Robis could only cry in the top.
Vilnis mantled the fish and made again some cobra moves.

8:53 - 8:56 Vilnis ate, Robis cried.
https://youtu.be/ssVUJ5p3nZ4

8:57 - 9:16 Vilnis ate and both called every now and then.
9:16 the fish was gone down to the crop of Vilnis.

9:26 the fish song began again....
fish number two!
Image

by Raimis who didn't waste time listening to the screamers.
Image

9:27 Milda flew to the top branch. then Robis dropped down from the top but it was too late: Vilnis had the fish. he mantled the fish and Robis cried on the back side of the nest.
9:29 Robis jumped to the left branch. she was apparently asking Milda to give her another fish (or the fish from Vilnis).
Milda flew out.

https://youtu.be/wGl3T3fmALk

9:36 Milda called in the forest. Robis replied.
https://youtu.be/i80ae0kZxHY

9:59 Robis sneaked from the outer left branch to the closer left branch. Vilnis protested.

10:04 Vilnis moved away from the fish and Robis was able to come to the nest and take what was left of the fish. that was not very much. Vilnis had forced himself to eat. :whistling:
Robis ate the rest. Vilnis went to the left branch.

10:32 Robis made some WE & CE, destroying the nest structure as a side product of this.

10:38 more!

10:41 Vilnis pooped on the branch and Robis watched him carefully.
