here's a picture with an eaglet approaching (top left corner) and creaming starting (red ellipse on lower line)

here's the video of this event. one of the eaglets (Vilnis?) flew from the left and around the nest tree and landed somewhere near. also the other eaglet was somewhere near. both started to call in turns. also some jays called.

6:09 one of them flew to the top of the nest tree. it was probably Vilnis (but i'm not sure about their voices anymore ). the other called nearby.

I often saw this * Cobra * position in the Tawny owl (Strix aluco) and the eagle owl (Bubo bubo). Mostly when they feed chicks. With Klaara and Klaus it is not so good because the box is small.

6:17 - 6:47 Vilnis called on hte branch and Robis called in the forest nearby.
(this morning there wasn't much any wind at all so it was easier to find th calls of the more distant eaglet from the 'soundtrack' than yesterday. i believe that yesterday the eaglets talked much in a similar way).

7:56 Vilnis was looking at something on his back then he pulled his wing feathers (this didn't look like preening). maybe there was some dirt or insects which he wanted to pick away?

8:06 - 8:14 the eaglets went on with their dialogue. usually Robis called first and then Vilnis replied.

9:27 Milda flew to the top branch. then Robis dropped down from the top but it was too late: Vilnis had the fish. he mantled the fish and Robis cried on the back side of the nest.
9:29 Robis jumped to the left branch. she was apparently asking Milda to give her another fish (or the fish from Vilnis).
Milda flew out.

9:31 Vilnis ate a little bit but he wasn't really hungry. Robis called at the left branch.

10:04 Vilnis moved away from the fish and Robis was able to come to the nest and take what was left of the fish. that was not very much. Vilnis had forced himself to eat.
Robis ate the rest. Vilnis went to the left branch.


10:32 Robis made some WE & CE, destroying the nest structure as a side product of this.

10:41 Vilnis pooped on the branch and Robis watched him carefully.
"what is it? where did that white stuff come from?"

10:44 Robis tried to get to the left branch together with Vilnis but that did not happen. she had to fly out.


11:20 a flock of wood pigeon flew by.

11:51 onward Robis started to call in the forest. that went on quite long, til 12:19.

somewhat later the calls stopped.
